Slenderman: Change of Mind

Chapter 6

Slenderman's P. O. V.

12 months have passed since she entered my forest. Our friendship became stronger and deeper. I knew everything about her and she knew everything about me. We always saw the stars at night before sleeping, trying to find funny constelations in it. Once, we found something rare; it was a constellation that spelled 'monster'. This made me feel sad, but Kate showed it to me in a different angle. She showed me that it could also be a heart beating. As we stared at it, we read 'K+S' inside it. Once we realized it, we both blushed slightly. She told me also how she got here; Henry had been drunk and she escaped in midnight before he came back. She ran to the old highway that led to my forest, which was closed for decades. She knew he couln't come in with his car, but could come in by foot. She saw him behind her a few miles away, so she started to run. Unfortunately, she mislanded in a hole and tripped into the forest. She heard Henry shouting out his anger and run away. Once she was deep into the forest, she slept. When she woke up, a bear was in front of her. The rest was already known.

During this year, I think I have been experiencing some kind of attraction to Kate. But I couldn't express myself correctly. I have been in love just once with someone that stabbed me in the back... literally. I was scared that it would happen again. Anyway, her leg was already healed; she could jump, walk, and run. She was ready to leave. She was silent and sleepy all day long because of the venom of the deal. When darkness fell around us, her hand started bleeding; she had to go away or the deal would kill her. She seemed dumbfounded at her hand, looked at me, and fainted. I shouted at her

-Kate! Please wake up! Please! (Slender)

I scaredly thought she died, but her eyes moving inside her eyelids proved wrong. I had 2 options: take out the deal or let her die. I immediately took her hand and started to undo the deal. It took me a while, but was successful. I looked at her eyelids, rid of the movement. I desperately pressed my ear against her chest to try to hear her heart. Her heartbeats were the most welcoming sound. After a few minutes, she woke up. She said

-Slender? What happened? (Kate)

If I had a normal mouth, I would be grinning from ear to ear. I didn't knew what to say. A strange feeling came over me as I took her head in my hands and kissed her. She seemed shocked, but then returned the kiss. Her hands curled up on my neck, hugging me closer to her. Unfortunately, everyone needs oxygen, so we pulled apart. After she caught her breath, she said

-What was that for? (Kate)

-Please, don't go. Stay. (Slender)

-But you... you said that... (Kate)

-I need you. (Slender)

She was thoughtful for a moment, but, without warning, she kissed me again. This was love. True love.

Kate's P. O. V.

I kissed Slender as much time as I could. His mouth kissing mine was like a doorway to Heaven. Once I was breathless, I pulled apart and told him

-Guess we are more than just friends now, huh? (Kate)

-Yes, I suppose so. (Slender)

I smiled and he kissed me one last time. I was so tired that I fell asleep on his chest.
