taliah harper is an extremely powerful woman in germany. being one of the richest families, she was granted with lots of public interest. taliah's father had been a high ranking in the military, which only added to their 'fame'.
erin was born into the family due to an arranged marriage. her mother, taliah was forced to marry one of the other richest families in germany.
along with marrying for money, they married for the quirks. erin mother could control water and ice, while her father could control blue flames, as well as the earth.
when erin was born, she inhabited neither of their quirks. her father, erik was completely outrageous at that fact. knowing at least one of their quirks had to pass down, he only assumed that his wife had cheated. which was proven to be correct.
taliah had confirmed, she had cheated on her husband. due to such, erin had inherited her biological father's quirk. this allows her to control dark energy around her. she can take in the darkness of the area, compacting it down to it's rawest form of energy. however, she had a second part to the quirk as well. going in hand with the darkness, she could also control the light around her. this allowed her to change the lighting in certain areas, creating beams of light, and anything she willed with it. due to having control over the light, she learnt at a young age how to manipulate the light to her will. by doing so, she could create illusions due to changing the way light reflected off of people's eyes.
as a child her parents forced her to practice at a young age. just as she developed her quirk, she was told to train. at the young age of five, she was being trained nonstop. the only break she got was her nightly sleep, as well as trips to the hospital. her parents forbid her to use her dark side of her own quirk. it was labeled as villainous, and absolutely disgusting. seeing as that part of her quirk was inherited by cheating, her father absolutely hated her using it. erin has yet to find out where her quirk comes from, and who her actual father is.
