"Erin!" Her mother called, instantly grabbing the attention of the distracted girl. Due to being enrolled to UA Highschool, they moved out to Japan.
Erin hummed in response, though her full attention was focused on her parents. They were quiet the perfectly imperfect, honestly. They had the same motives for life. Both perfectly happy with practically being forced to marry, yet both held such hatred for each other. It was a complicated relationship, yet it somehow worked. Somewhat.
"Due to school beginning tomorrow, we thought it'd be a great idea for you to meet the agency you'll be working with." Her father Erik stated firmly, eyes basically saying that it wasn't an option.
"Of course," Her voice rang out through the room, german accent leaking out. Her mother's eyes widened, shaking her head with disappointment.
"We told you to act native. You must dress, act, and speak so. Do not ruin our family name." Taliah spat out almost coldly, only receiving a nod from her daughter.
"Of course, I apologize mother." Erin forced a smile, pushing her accent out of the sentence. Her hair was neatly braided, as she flattened down her skirt.
"And take down that hair, hide that hideous scar of yours." Her father added coldly, a scowl across his lips.
Erin nodded, taking down the braid that was once in her hair. Her hair was long, and now slightly curly. She followed her parents out of the house, as they drove off to a house she wasn't used to.
—
"Ah, Enji Todoroki." Erin's father bowed, which she and her mother both did afterwards. "It's such a pleasure to have your agency taking after my daughter. She's also extremely pleased," He said as he looked at his daughter.
"Of course, sir. I knew by far that your offer had been the greatest." She forced a smile, lies spitting out of her mouth. She had no free-will to choose which agency she wanted to pair with. Her parents chose for her, she hadn't even seen how many offers she was given.
Todoroki nodded, welcoming the family into his home. "Shouto, son. Come here, they have arrived." He shouted throughout the house in a warm tone, which Erin knew was fake.
A bi-colour haired boy came around the corner, his heterochromic eyes making their way to Erin. "Ah, the Harper family. I've heard much about you! All good things, of course." He said quietly with a small smile, which quickly disappeared as eyes were off of him.
"This is Erin Harper. She's going to be your classmate. She's also working with my company, so you'll be seeing lots of her." His father introduced the white-haired girl. She smiled shyly, raising a hand with a weak wave.
"I have much to learn from your family." Erin smiled, saying the words her father had told her to. Nothing she's yet to say had been her own words. However, she decided to please her parents. It wasn't worth the backlash.
Shouto didn't reply, but flashed a smile to her as he lead the family into a room. "Please, take a seat. My home is your home." Enji Todoroki informed them, earning an impressed smile from her parents.
"Thank you, Todoroki. What type of training should we see in our daughter? Your plans for her future?" Erin's mother asked, sitting down on the couch across from the other family.
Erin sat down next to her mother, her father sitting on the opposite side so she was in the middle. Erin's eyes were finally interested in the conversation, as she looked up at the hellfired hero.
"Her self defense form is practically perfected, so we'll mostly be focusing on her quirk. Though, she can continue her martial arts training with my son in her free-time." He began, Shouto seemingly cringed as he was brought into the conversation.
"Along with UA High's hero course, your daughter will be training normally alongside my children." He said proudly, bowing his head gently towards the other parents."That's lovely, she could use some people her age to talk to. She hadn't made many friends, too focused on her training." Her mother joked, earning a laugh from all of the adults in the room.
'More like forced to train without reasonable breaks.' Erin thought, holding back a scoff. They lied about everything to make her seem perfect.
"Oh, we have a guest room she could stay in if she wishes. I think we can both know how tiring so much training can get." Shouto offered a small smile, though she could tell his words were scripted.
Taliah's hand squeezed Erin's somewhat roughly, but it was passed as an affectionate gesture.
"Oh, yes! Sorry, I was distracted." Her mother's hand squeezed again, causing Erin to add to her sentence almost immediately.
"I couldn't help but think how I could've improved my last training session." She softly spoke, through gritted teeth played by a smile.Enji grinned, finding great interest in her mindset. A chuckle escaped the man's lips, turning his attention to the girl. "The last training session. That was the one my agent was at, correct?"
"Correct, Mr. Todoroki." She replied, feeling slightly uncomfortable. Her parents hadn't told her what to do.
"And what do you need to improve from that fight?"
Erin licked her lips as she thought about the training, a soft hum coming from her as she gathered her words. "I used my quirk too much. Not that it tired me, it was barely anything compared to my actual abilities. I just wish I could've shown off my defense better." She brushed the hair out of her face, a shocked look came from both of the Todoroki's.
Tilting her head in confusion, her heart skipped a beat. Her scar had been exposed. She quickly covered her face again, gulping nervously as she thought of the consequences she'd be given later.
Her father let out a nervous laugh, trying to change the subject. "Erin, since Enji so nicely offered, would you be interested in staying with them for a bit?" He asked, you could tell how desperate he didn't want to talk about your scar.
"Oh, of course! You can stay anytime for as long as you'd like! Think of it as a longtime internship." Endeavor quickly fed off of her father's slight worry.
Erin bit her lip as she thought, taking her eyes off of her father as she turned to her sponsor. "That would be amazing-don't get me wrong. However, I'd have to get to know everyone here. I wouldn't want to be invasive by any means." She explained genuinely. It was the first thing she wasn't forced to say, but her parents were happy with her answer.
"That's quite respectful of you, Erin. I already like you." Mr. Todoroki smiled to her, his glare was intimidating her. She sheepishly nodded in response, still feeling awkward.
"How about you two go out for a bit? Hang out together, since you'll be around each other a lot." Shouto's eyes widened slightly at his fathers words, which he quickly changed his expression back to neutral.
"Besides, we have something important to talk about. It's nothing requiring you, children."Shouto nodded to his father as he got up, eyes trailing over to the girl. She quickly excused herself, bowing slightly to all of the parents.
"So, Erin. What would you like to do?"
