No one dared move, nonetheless get up to leave and be "taken care of privately." The air was dense and thick with intimidation as Accorsi and the others stood tall over their seated audience.

"Being brought into this program, unless you came from a military background, you signed a contract that allowed our full rights over you, and promised us your cooperation and participation. I truly hope you stay true to that promise you made as you stepped through those doors, and the pledge you took recently," Accorsi said. "This means no social media or interaction with the outside world while you are still in our hands, other than the recorded telephone calls you may make using the shared pay phone found by the elevators in the lobby. You may only use these in case of emergency to family members or close friends. Also, no internet or computer use other than the laptops offered in our department's library found on the second floor. It has restricted search and websites, everything also recorded."

Some younger recruits looked shocked and many looked around uncomfortable. This suddenly had turned into some sort of prison in the way of surveillance.

"A few rules you must follow here living in the ESR headquarters are that you must be in your apartment by eleven on weekdays, by two on the weekends, men cannot be in the rooms with women without the doors open and out of there by eight, no illegal drugs," he paused, "We are holding random drug testing. Please, only responsible consumption of alcohol on the weekends, always travel with two or more other recruits if you are going out in public and one doctor, and finally please be respectful of your new homes. No messes and have a reasonable amount of 'fun' with your buddies. We're relying on the honors system and common sense, guys."

"There is a full list of rules to follow hanging in the lobby and inside the drawer of your nightstand," Dr. Heinz said. "You are all mature and hopefully civilized, so we trust you. Please do not ruin that trust."

"And for the two ladies," Dr. Garret addressed, "respect yourselves as women around these guys. You never know what might happen."

Dr. Lorie said, "And as men respect these two girls, protect them as if they were your little sisters here in the headquarters and out in the city. You all know how to treat a lady."

There was the moment I dreaded. That was the moment where we were called out on as women in a room full of male recruits. Once more, I was different and could no longer blend into the background as a fellow recruit as everyone's eyes searched to target the girls.

My insides churned, then relaxed as I noticed that all the men in the room no longer searched to pinpoint the women, but now all had their attention on one soul woman. Glances at me quickly shifted to the more desirable female, which I was positively okay with. I even saw out of the corner of my eyes Daniel and Emerson's attention on Kylie. She was gorgeous, after all.

"Lads, lads, your attention should be up here," Dr. Lorie said clearly realizing where the eyes of the room turned to.

"The scientists in this room have been working harder than ever to finally make these genes manageable. With me, it was a strike of pure luck, but now there has been a new theory of manipulation ready to be taken into the experimentation rooms. And this is where you come in," Accorsi said. "It has an 88% chance of success, which is a higher number than 14% from which my circumstanced came from."

"After you all have settled over a period of a week, give or take a few days, we will be drawing out each one of you personally to begin the change, to begin the creation of a perfect human. Noticeable consequences may be extreme growth of muscles, slight changes in physical appearance, temporary memory loss, for men an increase of testosterone, and for women an increase of estrogen which may change some body parts, some side effects are frequent headaches which will fade over time, and illusions or vivid dreams," Dr. Ollivander said. "Others will be the obvious increase of intelligence, endurance, speed, agility, more emotional stability due to a difference in thought processing and organizing, and maybe even small changes in one's personality, but that is only in some severe cases."
