"(y/n)-chan! Are you still coming with us to the movies tonight?" You looked back seeing your bubbly blushing friend.
"Ochaco-chan! Hey! Y-yeah, I guess. Who's going again?" The brunette puffed her cheeks out, tapping her index finger against her chin as she thought.
"Mina-chan, Kyoka-chan, Momo-chan...and possibly Tsu-chan!"
"Oh, so a girl's night?" You nervously tugged at the split ends of your hair.
"Yep!" She took your hands and gave you a sweet, childish smile.
"That sounds fun." You nodded, feeling relieved that you wouldn't have worry about being around Bakugou and his happiness draining words, or having to ignore and secretly admire Izuku from afar.
When you first met the freckled boy at the entrance exam you didn't think much of him. You saw him being picked on and put down by an intimidating blonde who gave everyone nasty, burning glares if you happen to catch eye contact. You understood the green haired boy so well. The look in his eyes was all too familiar; you'd seen it before, when you looked in a mirror.
You had put your all into preparing for the exam. UA was a chance to start over, clear your head, and become a better you. You knew you wanted, no, needed to be a hero ever since you were a tiny child. You knew you could be like All Might when you grew up. After years of being bullied by bratty girls you became numb to the insults and jabs at your self esteem.
You realized that you shouldn't have to feel numb. You didn't need to let those bitches slide by. You'd make sure other young girls, no every young girl, would know they're beautiful and capable of anything. That's being a hero, right? You don't need to scale buildings and engage in flashy battles to be a true hero...right? There were so many "pro heroes" that caught everyone's attention, pulling the cameras, the money, the fame towards them.
Sure they took care of crazy villains and saved the day, but what about a hero to stops someone from becoming a villain in the first place? A hero to lend a hand and kindness to lead the person to the light instead of waiting for them to fall into darkness before destroying them.
That's who you wanted to be. You weren't super fit, or necessarily popular but you understood people and knew that was the kind of hero you were destined to be and you would get into UA and spread that message for all heroes to stick by.
UA was a school, an exceptionally prestigious school for crafting the best of the best heroes. You should no longer have to fear being bullied, right? If it were a school for heroes to be, they'd all be kind, supportive, and friendly. A true hero would never bully or put people down, that's the complete opposite of the definition!
You wanted the blonde to know what he was doing do the other boy was villainous and he needed a reality check if he was to be a hero.
It didn't go as well as you had hoped and the explosive hunk added you to his kill list.
When you were accepted to the school and placed in class 1-A you never would have expected to see him there, disrespecting classroom conduct as well. As the year went along you fell back into that numbness and just let him do as he pleased. You knew though, that you were in a class of true heroes. Even though this Bakugou had such a bitter tongue, everyone still accepted him as a good friend, still treated him as any other. The students didn't cower away from him or gang up against him. You came to admire all of them and you found your eyes pulled towards Midoriya more and more even as the hot head tried to crush your spirits.
"Sure, I'll come." You nodded and walked out of school beside her, chatting about silly simple things.
"Alright, we're meeting at the subway station for this theatre, exit 4 at 7 tonight. See ya!" Ochaco hopped away leaving you with a sense of security and acceptance.
