The Kingdom of Morcoast was grey, dreary and chained by a ruthless king. King Sidhro taxed his people higher every month. They knew he lived a lavish life in the castle on the edge of the seaside cliff. But that dark, gloomy castle had awful secrets.
King Sidhro stood on his marble balcony overlooking his kingdom, watching the rain fall over Morcoast. To his left lay the Sirrah Sea, to his right lay the Agoran Forest. Below, stretching for miles, lay his kingdom. The flashes of lightning lit up his lurid eyes. He heard a suppressed whisper of a whistling cloak in the wind. Without turning his head to see who it was, he asked,
"Did you get it done, Sena?"
"Yes, my king." Sena whispered as she walked soundlessly to the king.
"Before you tell me all about it, I'd like to advise you for the hundredth time, my castle is not a child's playroom, Sena." he smiled darkly at her.
"Yes, Your Highness." she grinned. Sena told him all about how the soldier asked for her forgiveness and how she just slit his throat instead. The king laughed at her beastly story until a servant interrupted their conversation.
"Your Majesty," the servant barely whispered. Sena already knew he was there, but King Sidhro whirled around. "Captain." The servant bowed his head, eyeing the enchanting Immortal captain.
"Yes, yes, what is it?" the king asked tiredly, playing off the fact that he had just been startled half to death.
"General Radus is here to discuss the issues at Arlen." he said a little louder than before.
"Send him in, servant." he said, carelessly. The servant disappeared. Radus walked in quietly, the taps of his boots on the marble floor was the only sound echoing throughout the chamber.
"Captain, a pleasure to see you." Radus said uncomfortably, surprised to see his captain, standing tall next to the king. Her icy eyes burned into him.
"Radus, what is it you've found at Arlen?" the king asked him, sullenly.
"The rumors are true, Sire, Morcoast is forming a very secretive rebellion." Radus explained. The king scratched his head.
"Leave me, both of you, let me think." the king hissed harshly.
Radus and Sena walked out of the throne room. They walked together silently through the corridor, until Sena stopped at the top of the staircase.
"I'll meet you in the training area with the others? I'd like to have a meeting." Sena ordered him.
"Yes, captain." he bowed his head and watched her leap over the iron railing and land noiselessly downstairs.
Sena retreated to her assigned quarters on the palace grounds to clean off the mud crusted onto her skin and clothes. She had a luxurious area considering she wasn't royalty. But since she was the captain of the Immortals, the king treated her like a princess.
She had numerous rooms, unlike the other Immortals, who had at most three. Her bed chamber was the biggest room in her quarters, it had a few floor length windows, a grand bed with silk sheets and a black canopy. She had animal fur rugs all over the polished marble floor. Her bathing room had a solid gold basin for washing and extravagant soaps and incenses. But her favorite room was her personal weapons room. It was a large space protected by two large oak doors, chained and locked. Sena kept the key around her neck. Inside, Sena had any kind of weapon. She had an assortment of daggers, bows, swords, axes, maces, arrows, and throwing stars.
Sena filled the golden basin with warm water. She washed the mud off of her body, but her red tattoos forever remained on the right side her body. Her tattoos were an assortment of war symbols that ancient nomads of Halivaara were known to have tattooed across their skin.
