"sir, she's here." the blonde stood near the door, which was slightly open.
"let her in." the boss said.
mr. park opened the door and let the small woman into the room. she bowed to him and smiled sweetly. jimin bowed back, in awe. her smile.
"so, i called you back in. do you wanna know why?" mr. jeon asked.
because you're desperate and a picky bi-
"because you needed an assistant, of course." jiwon said. jungkook nodded in agreement.
"you were the best choice out of them all, despite your small...outburst." jungkook emphasized the word outburst.
OUTBURST!!?? WHAT DO YOU MEAN OUTBURST!? I WAS JUST TRYING TO FIX YOUR FUCKING ATTITUDE YOU LITTLE RAT I-
"and i...apologize(?)." she spoke dishonestly, and she knew it.
"as you should." this little- "now, fix all these files."
he slammed down an enormous pile, and i mean enormous, of files."b-but sir-,"
"do as i say, you don't want to be fired on your first day, do you?" he said softly.
jiwon began to fume with anger. his attitude was nothing but absolute garbage. he was so ungrateful and spoiled. seven minutes into her first day, and she was already pissed.
she took all the files and set them on the chair. "where do i sort these?" she asked irritated.
"oh, forgot." he said standing up, "come."
jiwon rolled her eyes and picked up the box of what felt like billions of files and followed her boss dreadfully.
he led her to an office. it was a pretty perfect size for an office, not too big like jungkook's. she set the files with great relief on the desk.
"you can decorate this place all you want. decorate it with, i don't know, stuff? anyways, i'm next door so if you need anything, or if i need anything, you can enter." jiwon nodded.
he left the room and she looked around the office. it was a perfect workspace for her. not too big, not too small. she sat down at her new desk and looked through the files. dang. that's a lot of files.
she unwillingly ordered them in alphabetical order. some papers were misplaced, so she put them where they belonged. after a long and dull hour, jiwon finished her assignment.
she stood up and struggled to pick up the box. "just-ugh. god, what the-,"
"need help with that?" a sudden voice suggested.
"AH!" jiwon's squeaky squeal filled the room. she dropped the box, which made an enormous thump. thankfully nothing fell, but unfortunately she injured her toe.
"jiwon!" the man yelled. jiwon fell to the floor and caressed her big toe. she looked at the man, "jimin."
"i'm so sorry, i-," before he could finish another booming voice came in through the door.
"what's going on in here?" both jimin and jiwon looked back, it was mr. jeon.
"m-mr. jeon." jiwon said embarrassed. she stood up but soon fell again, due to her injury.
jungkook caught her in his arms, preventing her from falling. inches away, their faces were in front of the other. she looked up at him with pain in her deep brown eyes.
jungkook felt a sudden drop in his heart. his heart rate started to become faster.
faster.
faster.
the way her petite body fit into his arms, how perfect it was. the way their eyes locked, how intimate they were. their lips felt the sudden need to touch. this feeling inside of him told him to get closer to her, to kiss her, to love her.
but jungkook promised himself to never fall in love again.
ever.
he snapped out of his trance and corrected jiwon's body to stand up. "what, um, what happened?"
"i'm sorry mr. jeon, i really am. i dropped the box my accident and hurt my toe. i'm very sor-,"
"no need to be," he interrupted, "jimin, get me my first aid kit in my desk."
jimin nodded, but kept his eyes on the two. he walked out of the room quickly and was out of their sight.
jungkook set jiwon down on her desk delicately. he sat down on her chair and examined her foot carefully. "may i?" he asked to take off her shoe. she nodded in approval and he did so.
the toe was extremely red and bloody, the toe nail was broken which caused the bleeding.
jimin came back with the kit and jungkook opened it. he took out a band-aid and some medicine.
"jiwon, are you o-,"
"sshh! leave jimin." jungkook shushed jimin, and jimin look down at the floor sulkily.
jiwon looked at jimin sincerely and nodded. jimin smiled slightly and left the room.
jiwon looked back at jungkook, he was applying the medication to a cotton swab. "this is going to sting." he said reassuringly.
jiwon suddenly felt the cool sting of the substance and sucked in her breath tightly. jungkook looked up at her, and their eyes locked again. "s-sorry."
that's odd, jiwon thought, i've never heard him apologize.
he saw, and somehow felt, her pain. he could feel his heart start to beat again. no, not again. he thought.
he then went back to repairing the injury, trying to distract himself from this feeling. he finally wrapped her toe in a band-aid and put her heel back on her foot.
she stood up, unsteadily, and bowed. "thank you, mr. jeon."
he nodded and took the box of files. he was about to head out the door when he stopped to say something.
"later on, jimin will come in with some papers. you are to stamp them with the stamp he gives you. when you are finished, you may return home, but remember to tell when you are leaving." jeon said sternly.
"of course sir." jiwon said.
jungkook walked back to his office and set down the box of files on his coffee table in front of his sofa. he sat down on the couch and grabbed a pillow. he hugged it tightly and sighed.
he recalled when he had caught jiwon in his arms. how right it felt to him. he recalled how badly his heart was urging him to kiss the beautiful woman. he recalled his feelings. how his heart stopped and how his cheeks turned a bright pink.
although, he felt all that, before jiwon. before he was a businessman. before he got his first job.
before all that was when he promised himself to never fall in love again.
ever.
