Rosalina's POV:
"...I would never ever date someone who was my friend."
I am practically the biggest asshole that ever breathed. I sighed, running my fingernails across my scalp as the shampoo dripped down every part of my body. The shower was absolutely luxurious, and the residue of tomato sauce went down the drain. The scent of lavender filled my nostril as I scrubbed the rest of my body with soap.
But did I really mean what I said?
Could I actually forgive him?
But that was besides the fact. He was a millionaire football player with girls throwing themselves at him left and right. He could get any girl he wanted in a matter of seconds. And me? I was a broke orphan who had to drop out of high school to support my family. Why would he want me when he had Bruna? She was everything any girl would want to be; perfect, sweet, amazing personality, beautiful and she had what I wanted most.
Neymar's love.
I switched off the shower and climbed out, wrapping a soft white towel around my body. I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes and made my way over to the mirror. Swiping the cloud of fog, I began to comb out the loose tangles of hair that clung to my back.
"Shit!" I cursed as I pulled out a knot. I threw the comb to the side and tiptoed out of the bathroom. The last thing I wanted was for Neymar's friend to find me dripping wet in nothing more than a white scrap of cloth. As I exited the bathroom, I couldn't help but overhear Neymar shouting something at Duda. I peered closer, trying to see what was going on.
The television was on full blast and on it, was Bruna in the arms of another man. He was cute, dark brown hair, piercing green eyes and a beautiful smile.
"WHAT THE HELL?" Neymar screamed.
"Juninho, calm down it's not that serious-"
"What do you mean it's not that serious?" By now, his arms were flailing in the air and I rolled my eyes. I had nagged him countless times today that he needed to reduce his movements or else he would be in a whellchair-forever.
"Ney, Ney, calm down," Duda said, sitting him down on the sofa. "You broke up with her, remember?"
"It doesn't mean I'm not in love with her," he said softly. Suddenly, envy coursed through my body and I had to stop myself from crying by digging my nails into my palm.
Of course he loves her, I sighed, biting my lip. In love with her.
"Well, I'm sorry, but you can't do anything about it now." Unable to hear anymore, I turned on my heels in search of something to wear, but the floor squeaked from under me and both Neymar and Duda turned their heads to wear I stood.
"Uh, hi." I said awkwardly. I could feel Neymar's eyes on me, but for the moment I decided to take interest on the puddle of water I had created on the floor. The last thing I needed was for him to see my tear-filled eyes. "I need something to wear," I sqeuaked.
Seconds that felt like hours passed, an awkward silence falling over the room. Goddamnit just say something! I wanted to scream. Had I not been holding on to my towel so tightly I would have thought that I was completely naked with nothing to protect me.
"Upstairs, third door to your left," Ney finally answered. I gathered up the courage and looked him in the face; lips slightly parted, and hazel eyes that pierced through my skin. My cheeks grew hot, and I ran up the stairs, instananeously wishing I could disappear from the face of the Earth.
*************
I stared at the green glowing numbers with bitter hate and loathing. I was so tempted to take that stupid clock and smash it into peaces
