The sky was dark, cloudy, and full of freedom for Lena when her flight landed at the Incheon International Airport. She was exhausted from the 13 something hour flight, yet her heart was pumping with excitement when she set foot on the pavement.
Lena had always wanted to travel to South Korea ever since she was young. The language, the culture, the modern yet traditional ways, and of course the music drew her to this country.
Lena moved along quickly with the flowing traffic, dragging her wheeled luggage along behind her. She was afraid she would get trampled on if she slowed, as she was on the shorter side and had an easily overlooked face among the crowd.
"Exit... exit..." Lena muttered to herself with determination.
It wasn't too hard to find one of the many exits, as it was brightly worded with the word EXIT.
Lena exited the crazy airport and breathed in deeply.
"I'm on my own now, I better make the best of it!" She thought, heading towards a metal bench outside, grunting as she sat down and dragged her luggage next to her.
Lena unlocked her phone for the first time since the lift off, heading straight to the Uber app, ignoring all her messages.
"Thank god for my phone's international plan." She said aloud, her Uber driver already on the way.
-
-Lena finally arrived at her destination. She has booked a nice Airbnb in the Gangnam district of Seoul, the perfect place to have fun. Her Airbnb is a small, one bedroom apartment on the 4th floor of a modern looking building. The inside was obviously well taken care of and clean, but Lena didn't care if it was clean or not, she was just happy to be in a place she can sleep in.
Her stomach growled. Ooh how great! Just as I was about to sleep... But wait, this is a perfect opportunity to eat at a restaurant and explore the night life a little. Of course with that thought, Lena went straight out the door and down the stairs.
She didn't bother to google any restaurants. No phone, just living in the moment and exploring! Lena ended up at one of the only restaurants open in her area, a big, crowded, and lively place. The atmosphere was
amazing, Lena almost felt relaxed and like she wasn't the odd ball.-
-Feeling as relaxed as she did... she didn't bother to talk to anybody the whole time she ate. So much for adventuring!
Lena was heading out from the restrooms when she ran into someone who accidentally pushed her into a small side table.
"Oh my god... I'm so sorry! Are y-" Lena frantically backed away from the man she ran into, only to run into the table... again.
"No, I'm sorry! Did I hurt you?" The man interrupted, steadying Lena by pulling her away from the table gently.
"No I'm okay, it's just a little bruise, I'll be okay." Lena smiled sheepishly up at the man.
Which, she just then got a good look of.The man was taller than her by many inches and he had dark brown hair. But, the things that stood out the most to Lena was the fact that he was wearing sunglasses, a hat, and a half face mask. This wouldn't have been odd if they were outside, but the fact that they were inside and he was still wearing the sunglasses, it was a little weird to her.
"I should have been more careful..." The stranger said, but it sounded like it was just to himself. "I'm sorry again miss." The man bowed briefly and began to walk away.
"Wait!" Lena called out to the man.
Oh god why did I do that?! I haven't even thought of how I was going to word it! Lena's thoughts overran her.
The man stopped and looked back hesitantly like he got caught doing something wrong.
"Yes?" He spoke.
"Hello, my name is Lena." She said with a small smile "and I'm visiting here for a few weeks... and well, I don't really know anyone..."
She trailed off, oh god this guy must think I'm a weirdo, she thought."And you are wondering if I will help guide you?" The man finished what Lena was thinking.
"Ah yes! I would be so thankful." She nodded hopefully.
"I don't think that's a good idea.." The man said, in a normal case that statement would have turned Lena away, but she had a good feeling about this guy.
"Please? It's hard getting around a place I don't know." She almost begged.
"Okay, but you can not post me on social media or anything like that... because of... er personal issues" The stranger spoke hesitantly, hoping the girl would take it as a hint and ask a different guy to help her.
"That's okay! I can do that, but what is your name, I don't think I caught it." Lena smiled brightly. She was so excited to have a travel buddy. Lena held her phone out to the man to put in his Chatr ID.
"I'm Jung Hoseok, ill help you tomorrow. Nice to meet you, Lena." Hoseok spoke rather quickly, before typing in his ID then walking out of the restaurant, leaving Lena standing in the middle of a hallway.
She had no time to process his name before she gasped.
"That can't be the Jung Hoseok, could it?"
