The X-Men came around me as Jean built a wall of concrete around us.

“What’s…what’s happening to her?” Night Owl said to Beast.

“Fascinating. Those barbs in her arm must have changed her appearance.”

“So, can you help her?”

Night Owl came up to me and pulled the first barb out of my arm. I sent out an ear-piercing screech; I wanted to say to him Do tTHAT again and you’ll all go DEAF, but I couldn’t talk. He reached for the other one;

“No.” Professor Xavier said.

“She doesn’t want you to do that again. Or we might go deaf.” Jean continued.

“Especially me,” Logan sneered.

How did they know that?

Beast came up to me with a needle,“These anti-bodies made from Logan’s DNA should slow down the process of what is in those barbs.”

I stood up “Thanks” I managed.

“Are you okay?” Night Owl asked me.

I looked at him, anger welled inside me; the female X-Men backed away, “You lied to me.”

“What are you talking about?”

I lifted my arm and his mask went flying into Rouge’s face.

“Hey, watch it,” she said.

“Devin.” He looked at me in fear, question and amazement.

“How did you know?”

I didn’t know how. I looked toward the wall Jean built; it is going down, fast.

“Just get out of here.”

“But-” he tried to protest.

“GO.” I yelled, “You know these people wouldn’t leave until we’re gone. Jean, can you please take down the wall once you’re in the air?”

She nodded. Beast tossed me a long coat and shouted from the jet

“You need to help.”

As the wall fell I put on the coat and thought out, I’ll find my way. The crowd looked at me as they charged past the wall.

“Hey girl, you saw the mutant?” I looked back at them. A whisper rose

“Isn’t that the girl from that house on Linden?”

“Were did the X-Men go?”

“Did that girl get caught in the middle of a mutant battle?”

I just turned around and ran; I heard someone calling but I didn’t look back.

Some gunshots wiz past me, then someone yell, “Are you crazy? If you kill her the law will be on our heads.”

I followed a feeling I had to a large manor in New York; a few hours from where I lived. By the time I got there the anti-bodies were gone. I passed out at the front door in front of a girl that is there. She yelled for help. That she is here.

I woke up with a blinding white light in my eyes. Everything settled I sat up and saw I is in an infirmary. Being the only one in the room so I stood up and went towards the door when it flung open and a flash of sliver and blue.

“Pietro,” I hissed.

“How do you know it is me? I’m too fast to see.” He appeared in front of me.

“You’re the only X-man who wears blue and silver. Plus I can easily see where you’re going to go. If my vision is clear.”

He dashed behind me; I felt four quick jabs to my shoulder. My arm went on fire and I looked at the speed trails of he left behind. As fast as he did, I turned and caught his hands.

“How did you do that? The only people who can catch me are people like Jean Grey.”

“I am like her and many others. Don’t get me mad. That is the last thing you would want to do. If you do it may be your last. It isn’t controllable, yet.”

He gulped. I let go of his hands, “Good morning Professor, you wanted to see my abilities?”

“Yes. What are you doing with Quick Silver?” he wheeled into the room.

“Ask him. I just woke up and I find him in here. He punched me in my arm. I told him do it again and it may be his last move because of the problem with my … skills”

“Oh. Can you come with me to my office? And you leave our guest alone.”

You, quit the monkey business. I heard that, I laughed around the door.

Quick Silver zoomed out the door and Professor Xavier came out and I followed him to his office.

His office is like a therapist’s office; I’ve been in one the school. They thought Devin and I would need help after our parents died. He gave me a sheet of paper with a list of abilities.

I gave him back the paper, “How do you know you have these?”

“I don’t know I just can.”

He pondered what I had said, “Let’s go to the examination room.”

“Where is it?”

“It is the last room on the bottom floor. Why?”

I moved into shadows, “Well you were right about the shadows. Can you show me how you can you through walls?”

I fell through the floor to the lower level; when I got to the bottom, I heard the whirr of machines. I turned in time to doge a lazar shot; I smelt gas behind the wall and I wanted it to freeze. The next thing I know I hear the sound of a backed up shower-head. Then I turn around and slashed down; the blade of a saw and its pole are clashing on the floor. I looked; in my hands is a black sword.
