Fourteen

It was getting to everyone. This guy was a ghost. He left no traces, just the evidence that he was here and he could get to me.
After the polaroid last week, there were other notes and pictures left. Jacob barely left my side and when he did, dad made sure i had someone with me.
Today though, Jacob and i were going shopping for my siblings 20th birthday. I needed normal, i was sick of being stuck at home.
I played with Jacobs hair while he drove and sang along to the radio.
'I love you' i tell Jacob.
'I love you too' he takes mt hand from his hair and holds on his leg whilst he drives.
We pull up to the mall and walk hand in hand into the big centre.
'Codi?' I ask seeing my brother coming this way.
'Shh' he says looking around. I frown but notice he had a bag.
'Are you shopping for Neikyler?' I ask with a knowing smile.
'Yes and i seen her here just a second ago' he tell me.
'We're here shopping for you guys too' i pout.
'Dont get her this' Codi laughs opening the bag. It was a heap nail and hair stuff.
'I think im going to go with a new hand bag or something' i shrug. 'Are you on your bike? Want us to put this in the car for you?' I ask him.
Codi nods 'Thatd be great' he smiles.
Codi, Jacob and I all head back to Jacobs car and they talk about biker stuff whilst i try to figure out what my brother would want.
'Ill see you guys tonight' Codi kisses my cheek and fists bumps Jacob.
'See ya' Jacob calls and we head back toward the mall.
'I have no idea what to get him' i tell Jacob 'He has so many motor bike stuff and car stuff'
'What about the new Bullet for my Valentine CD?' He asks.
'See' i grin 'This is why i love you' it was my brothers favourite band, i personally dont enjoy it but he does 'Maybe they're touring' my eyes light up, i could get him tickets.
Jacob laughs but then a loud crash comes from behind.
We both jump and see a truck had crashed into the parking lot, wiping out at least three cars.
Jacob and i ran toward the scene 'Call 911' i call to a woman who just stood staring. She blinks and when i see her get her phone, i continue to run.
There were screams which wasnt unusual. 'Help who we can' Jacob tells me.
I go along the cars, looking for people. I hear sirens and it makes me relieved.
I find a woman in one car, she didnt look bad, jusy a head wound. 'Ma'am, are you ok?' I look around for anyone else to help but something caught my eye.
Feet.
I leave the woman as fear grips me.
Someone was under the truck.
'Oh my god' i was already crying as my feet move faster.
I knew those feet.
'No' i say dropping to the ground 'Codi' i yell but he isnt moving. I grab his foot but still no movent. I look under, but i couldnt see properly. 'Codi' i scream but there was still no movement. I dragged him. I grip his feet and i drag him from under the truck.
'Indi' Jacob comes over as i pull my brothers helmet off his head. It was cracked and parts had been broken off.
I let out a noise at the sight of his face. His eyes were open and he had blood dripping from his mouth.
'No' i scream holding his head on my lap. My brother. He was gone.
I screamed at anyone who dared come near me, even Jacob.
It didnt feel like long but the sun was setting when im ripped from my dead brother.
'No' i scream and fight as i watch paramedics put my brother in a black bag and zip it up. 'Stop' i plead.
'Indi' Jacobs voice was soft, pained as he held me. 'Hes gone' he tells me. I knew that. I knew he was gone and i knew there was nothing that could bring him back but i wasnt ready to let him go.
Jacob held me tight no matter how hard i fought or what i said to him.
'Indi' i felt something else in me crack as i hear my mothers concerned voice.
I turn and face her and she knew, her eyes go to the black bag and she rips it open.
The death of my brother broke something inside me but watching my mother right now absolutely shattered me. Dad had just arrived too, just intime to catch my mother falling in anguish.
'Neikyler' i say softly 'She was here' i look around but i dont see her. I pull my phone out and call her.
'Yeah?' She answers
'Where are you?' I ask her sniffling.
'Are you ok?' She asks concerned 'What happened?'
'Where are you?' I ask again.
'Im at the mall' she says 'is that sirens? Are you here?'
'You need to get out here' i tell her.
'Do you want me to...?' Jacob asks.
I shake my head 'She needs to hear it from family' i say and look to my broken parents on the ground. I had to do this.
'Can you call the club? Family first' i ask him wiping my eyes.
'Of course' he nods. He kisses my head and i head to meet my sister.
She sees me and she knew something was wrong. 'Indi, what happened?' She asks.
'There was an accident' i begin but my voice breaks. 'Codi..' i break. I couldn't say it.
'Codi what?' She snaps 'Is he hurt?'
'Neik' i willed myself to stop crying for a second 'Hes dead' it was the best way i could explain it.
She shakes her head, tears prick her eyes 'No' and she runs. I follow her to our parents.
'She cant know why he was here' i tell Jacob. I had to be strong so i forced my emotions down. 'If she knew he was here buying her a gift she will blame herself' because thats what i would do.
Jacob nods and pulls me into him 'Ok' he nods. I push away though.
'Please' i plead 'I love you but if you hug me i will cry again and I cant' 
'Babe' Jacob says sadly but those eyes, the way he was looking at me, i couldn't stand it.
So i turn away and go console my family because as much as i needed Jacob and i needed to be held, my family needed me more.
