Chapter 5

Penelope POV:
The next morning I had my first class with Josie. I was excited to see her again, it makes my plan way easier. I walked up to the classroom and saw Josie "hey there Jojo" I said and she turned around. She looked at me shocked and smiled "hey Penny, how are you? " she asked. I came closer and slid my fingers down her arm "great, thanks". 

We talked for about ten minutes and then the teacher came and started the lesson.

A few weeks later
It's a few weeks later and me and Josie became really good friends. At least that is what she thinks, I am just in it for the bet, of course. But for the last week or two, I started feeling bad for what I was doing. Josie is a great girl and I am not sure she would ever recover from that.

Josie interrupted my thoughts when she called me. "Hey, what's up? " I said casually and she quickly responded, "I was wondering if you wanted to meet up. ". I was nervous, did she find out about everything? Was it going to ruin everything between us? I was surely hoping not. Things were just starting to get fun.

I took a deep breath and said " Yeah, sure Jojo ", then we talked for a bit more and said our goodbyes. I went to the garden where we decided to go and saw Josie right away. She was acting nervous and she was pretty cute.

I walked up closer and started " Hey, you wanted to meet", then she took a deep breath and said, "look, I want to tell you something but I don't want you to freak out. ". I was becoming worried " What happened? Is there something wrong? ", I asked and she quickly shook her head "No, it's just you'll probably think I'm a freak and that I'm weird".

I grabbed her hand and continued " I will never think you are a freak, Josie Saltzman, okay? ". She nodded and said " Look, just promise you won't hate me." "I promise," I said and sat closer. "Since I first saw you, you were the most beautiful girl in the world and I had a crush on you since then. And seeing you was always the highlight of my day, especially when you smiled. My point is: I really like you. "

Well, would you look at that? Like. We are only a 2 letter change from me winning that bet. Easy work. But, why does it feel right and wrong at the same time?
