Chapter 1

Virion Faberos was wandering through the snowy forest with a handful of dead rabbits in a bag he had strapped on his back. It had been a few hours since he had left the city, and he wondered how he had killed so many rabbits - they were meant to be hibernating at the moment because it was the middle of winter. He was puzzling this over while he slung his bow onto his back he heard a shuffling sound in the bush next to him. His heart skipped a beat as he slowly pulled off his bow and cocked an arrow he moved down to his belt and reached into a bag he pulled out a load of nuts and then chucked them on the ground in front of him. He slowly prepared to fire as the bush started parting, he aimed straight for where the thing was coming out. He centred his mind, moved his legs apart, and slowed his breathing. The creature jumped out of the bush straight at him - it wasn't a rabbit or a rodent it was an orc. He unleashed an arrow into its leather armour and heard a thud as the arrow head ripped straight through and pierced the upper thigh. Black blood started pouring out of the wound. Virion quickly cocked another arrow and fired. This time the arrow flew into the orc's neck and thick black blood poured out of the wound slowly turning the snow around them blacker than oblivion. He bent down by the fallen orc and pulled the arrows out before kneeling down and breaking the suffering orc's neck. Before he left the repulsive body he noticed that the orc was wearing the sign of a Dark Elves Legion and he knew something was very wrong. Virion got up and sprinted through the forest as fast as he could, not making any noise as he gracefully raced across the forest floor. Virion was a tall handsome young man. Long of limb and graceful of movement.

As Virion neared the clearing he smelt smoke drifting through the air. He moved towards [ ] the Lake city. It was wintertime and everything was covered in a thick blanket of snow. Normally fae don't go hunting in this season but Virion need something to do, he was bored and couldn't stand to stay inside all day. Nothing exciting was happening in the city. As he moved through the clearing he heard voices yelling as he neared the edge of the clearing the voices and screams where getting louder and he wondered what was happing. Fishing hadn't started yet in the city and no carnivals would happen till the end of winter. The soft sound of crunching of footfalls awoke his keen ears and his hand flew to Nathrintr he wondered why he hadn't killed the orc with his sword. He bounded to the source of the noise and lopped the head clean off. This time it was something much worse. A dark elf. Once they sailed the sea as graceful sea elves but then the dark took them and tortured them till they submitted to him. Death would soon be open to the land of Westcross and it would be out to take its revenge on the free people of the earth. He knew why they were here, he rushed through the remainder of tree. The snagging fingers reached out towards him as they blocked Virion from seeing what destruction the city lay in. he closed his eyes he wished he hadn't gone hunting today he could have stayed and helped but instead he had been bored why he thought had this happened. He crossed the border of the tree line he tried not to look at the destruction that had enveloped the entire city that he had loved since child-hood. He drew his sword he still could help them. Then. He saw his sister in the water she was soaked in blood and her beautiful face was caked in gore and blood. He ran out to her she looked like she was about to drown the only words she seemed to be able to say were "I need help" he tried to get to her she was slowly going under the water so he grabbed her not wanting to let go he took her to shore she was soaked. He knew he must flee now. Soon he was a round boat rowing furiously towards the woods. He knew many plants with which to heal her maybe if she could just hang on... she passed out he got out of his boat and toad it ashore he only had time to glimpse at a horde of dark elf's coming towards him he quickly grabbed his sister and hoisted her into his arms he knew the fastest way to lites and he knew he could make her last a few more days before her injures got bad or even worse infected. As he rushed through the woods he kept on looking back seeing the dark elf's close behind. He started panicking he knew if they court him he would be tortured or hung. He knew he was what they were looking for, he was the firstborn heir to the throne of the elves and it was possible that they needed him to be a dark guardian. He rushed through the snow laden ground he heard the crunch of the dark elves footsteps. As he weaved past a tree he saw a river ranger. The river that was the border between the wood elves and the mountain elves he quickly rushed on knowing that they wouldn't dare go across the border because they didn't want to have to fight both tree elves and mountain elves. He sprinted he was only a few meters away from the stream.
