You shoot while hiding in an alley. There are too many for you alone, but you are going to try it.
You wouldn’t lose anything by doing it, instead if you stayed thing you would most likely end up dead.
You have no idea what their name id but it sure looks like a group of skeletons with long hair or a hood, you can’t exactly tell, they all wield scythes.
You shoot at two of them while they limb closer.
This new gun Nico made for you was perfect, fast and powerful enough even when you were in a bad situations like right now. They are too close and ready to kill you.
"Are you kidding me? What the hell did I do to you?!“ Obviously they don’t answer, you load again aiming for another skeleton, the shot going through its skull.
While you are busy trying to aim at another one of those things somebody just interrupts.
You knew exactly who he is.
“Are you ok?" His blue eyes look directly at your e/c ones.
"I am."
He kills all of them in a matter of seconds, ok, maybe it took him a minute or two, but it was a lot better than the time it would've taken you.
Nero crouches at your side cupping your face.
"I'm sorry for being late" He says before kissing you gently.
"What is your problem?!” Your voice being louder than normally and for the way his face looks you can tell he wasn't expecting that kind of response from you.
He surely is mad at your reaction.
"Are you out of your mind? They were trying to kill you!”
"That doesn't give you the right to interfere, that's not your job anymore, remember?”
"I'm not here, because you are paying me too, I'm here because..."
"Stop Nero, I don't want to see you around anymore, if I'm in trouble then I'll call Dante, or Trish or anyone else except you and I don't want to be rude, but you ditched me first.”
Clinging onto someone as hard as you were clinging onto him, was the steepest thing you have ever done, but did you have any more hope?
You were rude to him, you feel really bad about it and even then you knew you would do exactly the same again.
He left you just like you never meant anything to him, and he didn't call. So what gives him the right to come and protect you.
The next night you don't feel in the mood to be at the bar, but you can’t miss a day at your job again, so you stay in your office hoping that no one will bother you. Yes, you know it, you are expecting too much.
Nero comes that night to talk to you, to discuss out a non existing relationship and nothing could bother you more than that.
"I told you I don't want to see you."
"Are you sure? Why don't you look at your face while you are lying, probably because you know you wouldn't believe it too!
"Why are you making this so difficult Nero, I'm not looking for you all the time, I'm not at the same places as you are and..."
"That's not true" He says smiling, enjoying the reaction as you realize what you said.
“You went to Nico's, remember?"
"To Nico's not to your house."
"But still, you knew I would be there, she's my friend.”
“It was a simple mistake, I went there because Denzel told me to."
His expression changes in a couple of seconds.
"Who's Denzel?" He asks. "Is he your new boyfriend?"
"It's none of your business."
"It is my business."
"No, it's not, and listen, Nero. I don't want to see you now or never!"
A short silence fills the room.
"I'm sorry” He says. "I was dealing with a lot of shit and..."
"And nothing, you should have explained it to me and surely I would have understood.”
"I know, I don't have the right to talk to you, I'm sorry."
You look him in the eyes, defeated and tired, it breaks your heart.
"I'm sorry too, but please, just leave my office."
And so he does, even though he doesn’t want to.
"(Y/N), are you ok?”
"Yes, Denzel, thank you."
Nero turns around as he is standing in the door.
He turns to look at you.
Nero wants you back, but maybe you are already with someone new and he is the one to blame for that.
