Peter was swinging down the busy roads of New York heading to the tower.
He had missed this.
When he finally arrived, he didn't care for the front door and stuck himself next to an open window that was part of his floor. He crawled in to see Morgan playing with the LEGOS he had given her. He passed near her and when she saw him, she hugged him.
They had become siblings.
Peter went by the kitchen and grabbed an apple, since it was the first thing he had seen. He knew Morgan would be fine on her own here. Technically, she wasn't alone. Tony was able to make another FRIDAY. Peter started to make his way down the hall to his room. He needed to do some homework, which he quickly finished. Peter had finished his apple and thrown it in the garbage as he made his way farther away from his room and closer to the common area, not far from where he had left Morgan. The Avengers had already started getting new missions, so the common area was empty.
Some were on missions, others out of the building or on patrol, and others were in their rooms. He thought he was alone until he saw a flash of silver sitting near the floor in a shadowy corner. Peter quietly inched closer to find that it was only Bucky playing with his metal fingertips.
He looked sad, so Peter being the kind person he is asked, "Bucky, is everything okay?" Bucky seemed startled by Peters voice, and immediately jerked his head up to see Peter looking down on him. Bucky didn't respond, so Peter sat on the floor next to him.
"Bucky?" Peter questioned again. Bucky looked at Peter. "Yes?" he responded.
"Is everything alright?" his worried gaze trailed down to his hand, where he was still playing with his fingers.
"I don't know. It's been to long," he whispered. His voice was hoarse as if he hadn't talked or drank something in a while.
"Since?" Peter looked at his face now.
"Since Steve has seen me," Bucky said, his voice raised unlike before.
"Well, maybe you should talk to him? You could always ask someone if you ever need help," Peter suggested. He had taken Bucky's response as a hint towards him possibly liking Steve. Peter was completely okay with that, and was glad that Bucky had opened up to him about it.
Bucky nodded his head and looked Peter in the eyes.
He even smiled. Peter had never seen Bucky smile in the short time they had known each other.
"Thanks, Pete. I think I'll do that," Bucky said, standing up and motioning Peter to follow him. Peter immediately stood up from his place on the floor and followed Bucky into the kitchen. Bucky opened a drawer and took out a pen and grabbed a napkin.
Peter saw him quickly scribble something on it and handed it to Peter. It was a phone number. Peters surprise must have shown, because Bucky told him that if either of them ever needed to talk about something that was bothering them, they could always talk to each other for help. Peter happily agreed. He liked that idea, so he took his phone out of his pocket and saved Bucky's number on it. He said his goodbyes before leaving Bucky in the kitchen.
The last thing he saw was Bucky opening the fridge and taking out a plum.
