Third POV.

Classes. Classes all day. Well it's been a while. The sun was going down and the campers had just returned to their cabin from dinner. Daniel sighs and sits on the couch. The cushion next to him dips and out of the corner of his eye he can see Mike. Daniel kicks off his shoes and leans back, covering his face with his hands.

2:18 am

The boy sits awake on the couch. Knees curled up to his chest as he jumps at every thunder crack. Daniel never did like big storms, but usually he had Jonah to hold him through it.

Crack!

A loud thunderous boom shakes the entire cabin. Daniel screeches and his breath gets heavy. He wheezes into his knees as the storm continues.

Crack!

Daniel cries out and pulls his knees closer to him. He squeezes his eyes shut and scruches his nose. He feels a pair of arms wrapped around him and he jerks up to see a blonde boy looking down at him. On reflex Daniel leans into the older boy's chest. He wraps Daniel in a hug and rubs up and down his back, comforting him. Daniel cries into the blonde's chest.

"Shh." Corbyn whispers. "It's okay I promise. I'm right here." The two sit in silence for a minute, Daniel crying into Corbyn's chest. "What's wrong?" Corbyn finally asks. Daniel sniffles but doesn't get up. Instead he leans closer to the comfort and warmth.

Crack!

"I-I never liked big storms." Daniel confesses. "I don't know why I've just always been afraid of the loud noises." The boy sniffles and wipes away a tear that had fallen. Corbyn holds him tighter. Daniel felt safe in his arms. It felt like Jonah was with him again, and he wasn't at camp, and the hang was still together. It made him feel like his life hadn't fallen apart.

Crack!

Daniel jumps slightly in the boys arms but doesn't cry. Instead he closes his eyes and slowly drifts off to sleep, Corbyn soon following.

"If you could have one thing in this world? What would it be?"

"To find true love." The boy responds. The mother raises an eyebrow at the eight year old.

"Why?"

"Because I want true love like you and daddy, everything is better when you have someone by your side every day to cheer you on. That's what you taught me." The boy smiles enthusiastically. The mother smiled before patting him on the back and continuing to pack her things.

That was the last time he saw her.

Daniel wakes up sometime around dawn. He feels someone around him. He looks up to see a blonde headed boy, curled around him in the blanket. Daniel instantly launches himself from the boy's grip making the blonde jerk awake.

"What's wrong was there another storm? Is everyone okay?" He asks sleepily. He yawns and rubs his eyes before sitting up completely. He looks up at Daniel now mostly awake. "Are you okay?" He asks. Daniel looks at him with pure confusion.

"What do you mean? Why wouldn't I be okay?" The blue eyed boy asks. It's Corbyn's turn to be confused.

"Well you were so scared last night that  I basically had to cradle you to sleep." He replies. Daniel covered his face, embarrassed.

"I'm sorry it's just usually I have Jonah with me and he knows how to calm me down and just like I don't know. Last night was the first thunder storm without him and.... I'm sorry I woke you up." He finishes. Corbyn  stands up and hugs him. It's sweet and short but Daniel still feels his cheeks heat up and a slight nausea feeling in his stomach. One that he hasn't felt since he met Jonah. Corbyn looks into the boy's eyes.

"Don't worry. I'm here to help you, it's my entire job." He smiles such a warm smile that Daniel finds himself smiling back at him.

"Okay." He says. Corbyn hugs him again, this time leaving his hands on Daniel's shoulders.

"Good, now do you want to wake up the girls while I get Mike up?" He asks. Daniel nods and the two break apart. He just stands there for a minute before shaking his head and jogging upstairs. The girls were already awake and getting ready for the day.

"Fifteen minutes!" Corbyn yells from downstairs. Daniel sighs and walks back downstairs to get a shower and get dressed before following the rest of the group to the mess hall for breakfast.
