Half Wolf

Prologue

I look into the distance, as my eye catches sight of something. I look to the wolf next to me and silently whisper "This ones mine,"

He stands there looking into the distance, meaning in his terms 'go get em'. I slightly smile as I stand in position, ready to catch my prey.

I lightly take a few steps forward making sure I make as little sound as possible. The deer is about 10 meters away, I need to get closer before I attack. I lightly take a few more steps closer.

The deer hears a noise and looks around. I slowly duck down so he won't see me. I can hear their pulse increase. It doesn't see anything that could cause it harm so it keeps eating.

I take a few more steps closer making sure I make no noise. I get myself closer and get into position ready to pounce. I shuffle myself forward watching the deer like a hawk.

I slowly get ready to pounce but my foot lands on a twig, making a cracking sound that breaks the silence. The deer looks up and locks eyes with me. Its eyes widen with fear as it starts to run away from me. I'm not going to let this one go.

I sprint after it. It senses me behind it as it starts to speed up. It won't get away that easily. I run faster, gaining on it quickly. I quicken my speed.

I find myself getting close enough to pounce. I know I'll only have one shot at it.

I leap of the ground aiming to land on the deer. I feel myself almost flying through the air.

I land on the deer. I quickly without thinking rip out it's throat. It instantly drops to the ground taking it with me. I yelp in shock.

I glare at the deer in shock. Success! I did it!

I hear a noise behind me. I quickly look behind and see the wolf standing.

I watch as the wolf starts taking another form. Its human form.

As soon as the Wolf has fully converted back to his human form he stands up.

"I'm proud to call you my daughter," He says.

"Thanks dad." I say getting up to hug him, with my tail wagging happily.

"Hey Thea?" He asks in a tone that makes my heart drop.

"Yeah dad?" I ask cautiously.

"Look, there's no easy way to say this. But I think its time though I told you that we are moving back into civilization," He says as I just blankly stare at him.

"What?! Why?!" I yell. We haven't lived in a civilized place since Mum died 10 years ago. Since then we have been rogues.

"We need to be with people, because I won't be around forever. I have organized for us too move into a pack ." He says.

"How will I act human I ask. Like what about my ears and my teeth?" I ask him desperately.

"You will have to keep hidden. You won't be allow out of the house. There are more rogues each day and having a pack will protected us," He says expecting me to take his word. A silence comes over us.

"So I won't be allowed to go out at all?! And won't you need to tell the alpha that I'm coming as well?" I ask.

"No I'm afraid not and the alpha knows about you and he has sworn to secrecy." Dad says.

"But what about hunting?" I ask.

"I'll take you out of the territory each weekend and then we can hunt. Does that sound okay?" He ask

"I guess so."

"How bout some food?" He says gesturing to the deer, breaking the silence. I smile and slightly laugh.
