I dont know if this happends in other orchestras, it probably does but no matter how good I play, I have to sit in the second row because I'm in seventh grade. Like, I understand yeah that the 8th graders have more experience but gosh. One of the 8th graders I was practicing with didnt even know the song that well but I knew it.
So the story is that, yesterday I had a spring performance at school and there are 2 8th gtade cello and 1 7th grade cello which is me. One of the 8th graders were sick and didnt come to school so I was on the first row wth the other 8th grader. I was soooo happy because I wasnt irrelevant anymore. Turns out the 8th grader that was sick asked her dad to drop her off for the perfomance and now I was bounced back to the back row. I was sad 😢. But you know what, I'm grateful I even got to perform with the 8th graders👏👏👏
Thanks for reading this irrelevant rant 😄
