Constructed in 1923, the Shelton Hall was originally a part of the Sheraton hotels. It was converted into a residence hall by Boston Universty in 1954.
Apparently, the university got more than just a building- they also got a ghost. Playwright Eugene O'Neill died in room 401 one year before Shelton Hall became home to the BU creative writing majors. Today, he apparently likes to disrupt their creative processes by knocking on their doors and stopping the elevators. The temperature fluctuates drastically and often, but only the floor he died on.
