The Wampanoug tribe tells stories about Pukwudgies, tiny, gray, humanoid beasts. They are said to inhabit the swampy region of eastern Massachusetts.
Pukwudgie are described as trickers with oversized noses, fingers, and ears, and often resemble porcupines that walk upright. These beings can appear and vanish at will, and are known for luring people to their deaths: pushing them off cliffs, blinding them with sand, and attacking them directly with their tiny spears.
