LILO BROWN

__the morning arrived again and I was frightened by the sound of a slammed door. I turned over to see Zion left. He must've left last night while I was sleep. I got up and walked to Ali's door. I was worried and I wanted to check on her. "Ali?"

"Go away." She said back and I sighed.

"Can I talk to you please. I just wanna know what's going on." I heard muffling assuming she was coming to the door to open it, which she did. I walked in and she closed the door behind her and soon jumping face down into the bed. I joined her. "What's going on Aliana?" She said something in her pillow but I really couldn't hear her. "Ali I can't hear you."

She picked her head up and faced me. "I think me and Edwin broke up."

I looked over with wide eyes. "Y'all didn't," I said extremely shocked.

"He said he was done with me and I told him the same. But I wasn't serious I was just mad." before I know it she was in tears. I quickly hugged her. "I never understood how you felt but now I do. This shit hurts."

"I know man. Y'all are gonna get back together though. You guys are just in a rough place. Need a break from each other."

"But Lilo, I miss him already." She cried in my hoodie. "I shouldn't have said what I said last night."

"And he shouldn't have said what he said last night either. You guys were both really wrong."

She nodded. "Man I don't even wanna talk about it anymore. Tell me about you and Zion I want to hear a good story."

I smiled slightly. "He asked me to go to Canada with him."

She sat up and looked at me. "For real? like to meet his mom?"

"Yes, his mom and I'm his first girlfriend to meet his whole family isn't that crazy. I feel special."

"That's so sweet. When do you meet them?"

"In a day."

She frowned. "So when were you going to tell me this," she said sounding disappointed.

"I was going to tell you last night but you and..."

She nodded quickly and laid her head back down on the pillow. "Edwin." I nodded. I didn't know what to say so it just stayed quiet. "How long are you going to be gone?"

"...a month." She instantly shot up.

"Fuck this Lilo. You aren't leaving me for a month alone while Edwin just broke up with me."

"Look, Ali, this is important."

She shook her head. "Lilo, what am I going to do for a whole month of grief." She laid her head back down spilling tears again and made me tear up.

"You'll be fine. I'll facetime you every day."

"Like that's gonna help my depression."
