Amy was down in the locker room, getting changed into her snuggly, dry NYPD sweatshirt. She lifted her soaked pink shirt and looked at it for a brave while. Her blouse, soaked in coffee as the smell printed on the fabric, was strangely still strong. Filling her nose. She couldn't believe it. She spoke to jake like that. He clearly saw everything. She talked to jake like that. He saw underneath.

Oh dear god.

She cringed in thought

Amy hid her embarrassment into her hands. She shook her head in disbelief, trying to get rid of the thought that Jake and the entire squad saw under her shirt.

How embarrassing.

Amy stood up and placed her stained shirt into her locker. She laughed to herself and blushed.

He knew I spilled coffee, so he clearly noticed it well before. Why didn't he mention it there and then? Did he want to look?

She smirked, jake clearly wanted to see, right? Why didn't he tell her straight away. Amy shook her head and closed the locker door. Next to her stood Jake.

"Holy good god! Jake! You scared the crap out of me!" she jumped, placing her hand on her chest

He stood there smiling affectionately. Amy started to feel queasy. Butterflies in her stomach fluttered and her face felt warm. What is going on with her...

"What you blushing about?" Jake said

She panicked, not knowing what to say. What could she say? She had to change the subject, whisk it away.

"What are you doing in the ladies locker room is the real question?" she said smugly, folding her arms.

"Captain wants us in his office, that's all."

"Is everything okay?" Amy said, slightly concerned for something to be brought to her captains attention of needing her.

"No. It's a funeral Amy." He paused and sighed "A funeral for that stained shirt of yours."

Amy rolled her eyes, tied in with a soft giggle at his childish ways. But she couldn't lie. She liked that about him. It was cute.

"Let's just go, Peralta" she smiled as they both made their way up to captains office.

"Ah, santiago. Your changed." said Holt, just when Amy and Jake came through the elevator doors.

"You needed to talk to us?" Amy asked

"yes, please enter my office"

Holt walked to his desk and sat down on his chair. He pulled out a file, and placed it in front of him.

"I brought you two in here because there is a new detective joining our precinct. I thought you two would be suitable for the job by introducing her to the squad, and showing her around"

Her?

Holt placed the file in front of Jake and amy. Inside was information about the new detective, she was blonde with blue eyes. Age 26, named Taylor irvine.

Amy picked up the file and looked at her photo identity. She looked stunning. She looked like a typical model blonde. Strange to see such a gorgeous woman join a police force. She was too beautiful to be in justice to fight criminals and get bruised time to time. Amy placed it back down. Not saying a word.

Jake finally picks it up, reading over the information.

"wait! wait! This is Taylor? Taylor Irvine?"

"yes. That would be correct, since the information is permitted on that sheet. Why is there some sort of problem?" questioned Holt.

Amy glanced at Jake as he had a smirk on his face, still glued to the file. Why was he smiling?

"No! It's not that! It's great in fact! I know her. She was my ex girl friend back in senior High, we would have great times."

Amy shattered into little pieces when she heard. "My ex girl friend". Her mind was now swimming with frightful thoughts and her heart was pulsing.

What if Jake falls in love again? What if he never speaks to me cause he is too fixed on flirting with her!?

She thought. Maybe Amy was thinking too deeply. But, the girl in the file was beautiful. Amy knew she was prettier than her. That's what she thought.

"Santiago?"

Amy jumped to the sound of Holt's voice.

"s-sorry sir. I was just thinking..."

"Amy you've been off lately. You seem perplexed." He stopped, just looking at her "If you need to talk, my door is always open... Well, it's not open all the time. I used a metaphor"

"thank-"

Amy was quickly cut off

"I know what your thinking..how preposterous of me using such play on words. I may as we-"

"Sir. I'm fine." She cut him off before he went into a rant about himself.

"Alright. Anyway, she will arrive here within 10 minutes. Make sure you make her feel welcome, I'm sure that won't be a problem since she knows peralta. That would be all. Dismissed."

Ding!

The elevator doors opened. Amy shot her head up to see if it was the new detective Taylor.

Scully and Hitchcock walked out the elevator with a box of doughnuts each.

She relaxed. Knowing it was typically them coming back from their break. Amy continued to work away on a case, jotting notes down, trying to push away the thought of Jake catching feelings for this blonde. Amy was hoping that, maybe, just maybe he might of forgotten about her. Maybe she isn't that pretty? The photo might have been altered. Amy knows it's going to be okay. She is going to be fine. This Taylor girl won't get in the way.

Right?

Suddenly Amy noticed a strange, unusual shadow casting over her work, blocking her light.

"Hi, I'm detective Taylor Irvine."
