Hovering overtop of Jack, Mark's mouth clamps shut. No better word describes him than stunned as he searches Jack's eyes for sincerity. Clearly he hadnt heard right. There's no way Jack had actually said...
"Me?" He murmurs confirmingly, brown eyes running laps over Jack.
Below him, Jack's calm slipped away, and in the blink of an eye the chaos hailed within. Yet, his whole body remains motionless as all of his muscles tense, bracing himself for the blow of rejection. This is where he screws everything up. He's dreaded this from moment one and now here he is. Happiness is going to grind to a hault and he's going to lose the best thing he's ever had. He wishes so deeply he would have lied. He isnt prepared for this at all, he never was or ever will be. Its over. This is the end.
Swallowing, Jack nods stiffly, displaying the state of the rest of his body. Above him, Mark's eyes and expression remain entirely unreadable., and it only increases Jack's worry. God please spare me, Jack pleas silently, desperate for anything to happen as the moment passes in ear ringing silence and tension.
Its broken when Mark begins to chuckle. Its so sudden it even surprises him, and it quickly grows into a belly deep laugh.
Jack's mind races trying to gauge the situation. He never even considered this reaction. It doesnt seem Mark is taking this too seriously, so perhaps he can get off the hook. Maybe he can play it all off as a joke?
Desperate, he attempts to laugh jaggedly along with Mark. His brain sending his whole body into panic as his finger's tremble in cold fear. The laughter feels like well aimed blows to the stomach as he vehemently searches for an escape route.
Mark leans down and takes Jack's face in his hands, meshing their lips together suddenly, ending the laughter as abruptly as it had started. Jack flinches, having been prepared for the very worst, but the sensation freezes his whole body. Its unfamiliar, yet saticefying and somehow it quiets all the outrage he hides below his skin.
One moment he was laughing, the next his lips are against Jack's, and Mark regrets nothing. He doesnt care that his lips are desperate, or that Jack is stiff with shock. In the one moment, everything Mark ever wanted fueled him to reach out and take it. It's right there, all he had to do was act, and thats what he did.
Slowly, Jack melts into the kiss, already falling in love with it. The heat of Mark's lips against his cold ones, the taste of warm honey, the movement of Mark's hungry lips against his trembling ones, its maddening. His hands tentatively find Mark's shoulders, and snake around them, reacting more naturally to the movement of Mark's lips.
Mark holds the kiss as long as possible. Jack tastes just as he'd expected, like the barest tastes of whiskey, mixed in with his own personal undescribable brand of sweet. The further Jack reacts, the more he wants. Mark is already high, but Jack makes it so much better with every shy reaction and touch.
Breathless, Mark gently pulls away, but not far, Jack can still feel his breath on his lips. His eyes open, the pools of curious gold entrancing Jack.
"Why the hell didnt you tell me sooner?" Mark questions, still holding Jack's face in his hands, stroking his cheek with his thumb. Heart still hammering, Jack opens his mouth to studder out one of the dozens of answers, but Mark shakes his head and kisses him to cut him off.
"Tell me later." Mark contradicts himself between kisses, having already grown to miss Jack's lips. Jack had heard its better when it feels wrong. Though, he's not sure if this applies, because yes it feels forbidden, new and dirty, but it also felt all too right.
Mark shifts his weight from his knees to his forearms as his body sinks against Jack's. It has already began to respond on its own accord, parting Jack's knees with one of his own to slide his hips between the smaller man's thighs. Jack curls his fingers between locks of Mark's hair, pulling him in deeper, offering Mark's curious tongue entry as it gently teases his lips.
