Since the incident with Ana by the river. Her being weak and everything, you've just been slouched around. It was hard seeing your 'friends' in pain or hurting. It broke your heart.

Ana laid in her dorm most of the days, as usual. Having a few visitors here and there. Sometimes it being you or mostly Brody and Marlon.
Those three were like family and it'd be sad to see something happening to any of them.

As of now you sat in the courtyard at the famous picnic tables. Head in hands and a sigh here and there.
Louis found his way over to you to check up on how you were feeling and had hoped you wouldn't be as ill as Ana.
"Hey.." his soft, confident voice rang out to you, getting your full attention. "Hi." You softly said in return as he took a seat beside you, his hands placed together like he was in prayer. He looked straight ahead and looked at you with a sigh, "what?" You asked in concern. He shook his head and looked down at his lap. "Ana's really sick.. Ruby said she's going through her phases again." He said, hurt laced in his voice. You frowned and put a hand on his shoulder, not knowing about these 'phases', you didn't want to ask but you did anyway, "what phases?" You asked with a raised eyebrow.
He shook as a sob crept up on his body.
Your eyes widened when he pulled you into a tight hug, crying on your shoulder. You didn't mind but it shocked you. Louis never seemed like the type of person to cry in front of people because he wanted to seem strong for everyone, especially the ladies.
You hugged him back, holding onto him like he'd slip away from you. Still what was he talking about.

After a bit of hugging and you rubbing circles into Louis's back, you two pulled away. His tear stained skin and red puffy eyes made him look soft, even softer than he already was.
He tried to avoid eye contact with you because he was probably embarrassed.
So you grabbed his arms and this made him look at you. "What's going on?" You asked, concern laced in your delicate voice. He sighed and his mouth began to move before Marlon came busting out of the admin building and out towards the gates, he seemed furious. This was kind of a new side to him.
Louis got up and ran after his best friend but was shut down when Marlon yelled "Go away!".
Louis shrugged sadly and walked back over to you sat down, head in hands.
It was silent and you've never had to comfort somebody like this. You never did and never wanted to but the people around here were important to you.
You finally realized how much these people met to you in a short period of time.
Louis finally broke the silence, "I shouldn't be the one to tell you but.." he trailed off as he sat straight up and looked towards the entrance of the school, "Ana kind of has bad hallucinations.. it puts her in danger most of the time." You raised an eyebrow at this, what was he talking about and why?
You were confused and decided not to ask anymore and you patted Louis's shoulder, "I'm sure she'll be okay.." you reassured as he looked at you with a sweet, passionate smile.

You stood up and held a hand out towards him.
You wanted to go visit Ana, maybe she could assure you about more of this story.
He reluctantly took your soft hands and stood up.
You both made your way towards Anas dorm.

You arrived and knocked on the door, Brody immediately answering it. She looked like she had been crying. Noticing it was you and Louis she quickly wiped away her tears and let you two in.
You walked in and looked at the poor Ana.
Pale skin, black bags underneath her beautiful, chocolate eyes.
She was asleep but it didn't look peaceful. I mean at least she was getting sleep.
"Is she-" you began but Brody cut you off with a quite 'sh'. You nodded and sat down on the opposite bed and Louis did too, you both still holding hands.
"She's not okay.. at least for now she isn't.. right?" Brody looked at you two with hopeless eyes.
"I-I don't know,Brody." You sadly said as you glanced back at the girl. You didn't think this was a big deal at first but Ana practically looked like the dead that walked and feasted upon us.
You sighed and Louis gripped onto your hand tighter, it didn't hurt, it made you feel better.
"Hopefully she'll be okay soon." Louis said in a quite, reassuring voice, towards Brody. He realized he can't be sad while everyone else is, he needs to be strong.. for him and his friends.
After visiting for a bit, Ana stirred in her sleep and Brody ushered you two out because she didn't want to wake her up.

You two being respectful, listened and left as quietly as both you two could.
You made your ways to each of your dorms and plopped down on your beds and tried to sleep but everything that's had happened got to you both.

Finally what seemed like an hour later, you both fell asleep while Brody and Marlon stayed awake, both taking turns watching Ana to make sure she didn't hurt herself.

Realization hit you hard today.. people have to care for each other in order to make it as a human being.
You've gotta be there for when they need a shoulder to cry on, like Louis.
You were so used to bottling your emotions up so you'd never open up to anyone or wouldn't really let anyone open up to you.
Today was different.
You'd make sure Ana would get better and that Brody, Marlon and Louis wouldn't be upset anymore.
I mean the other kids were worried about her too.

(Hi!! Short and cute chapter here☺️ I'm officially on summer break so I'll try my hardest to upload at least twice a week. This book has had my full attention and I plan on making it happen. Idk if I'll write about the whole raiders thing, maybe like an after story for it. Next chapter will probably be long because I'll cram the whole ambush thing the raiders did and after the explosion. I was wondering if I should kill off Ana or have her taken😅 I feel like having an oc can impact the story in a good way. I know the focus has been on her lately but this is a "various x reader" story and Ana is apart of that.
Also more cute scenes with other characters will be written. :)) at the end of this story I plan there to be only one love interest or maybe you could have a fling with all of them lmaooo!! But keep on the lookout for updates!)
