Harry
Living with Mila quickly became one of the best decisions I ever made. I started working more and she decided she was going to go back to school. It was nice to always come home to her smiling face and wake up knowing I'd still have her. Things had gone smoothly for a while for us and I was beginning to worry that something was going to pop up and of course I was right. An event. I wouldn't typically be nervous about bringing Mila to an event except for this one was huge and I knew there would be people there that neither of us wanted to see. But when my job calls I have to answer. We had several weeks until the event but I was already sweating it. I wanted Mila to go with me and I knew she would if I asked but I also knew my ex Kendall was going to be there. She wasn't an ex like Camille though. I actually cared for Kendall and I thought she cared for me and we had always been on and off. When I saw her part of me was always excited and I knew that if given the chance she would dump whoever she was with at the time for me. Not saying I would take the opportunity but having your ego stroked every once in a while didn't hurt. Part of me hated that I was narcissistic, but I knew that was the only reason I was a twenty five year old multimillionaire that lives this life. "Mr.Styles" my assisatant says as she knocks on the door of my office before poking her head in. "Yes?" I asked curtly and she smiled slightly. "Mr. Hendrix is here and you didn't answer your phone. Should I send him in?" She asked and I nodded as I stood unbuttoning my suit jacket. I heard his voice before I saw him. "Styles" he chimed as he stepped into my office and sat in a chair at my desk. "I've got a proposal for you" he started and I sat in my chair across from him. "And that is?" I asked hesitantly which made him laugh. Since being with Mila him and I had developed more of a friendship outside of our business relationship so it was a different dynamic now. "You sold majority of your shares of this company to me... but I want to open up a new company in California and I want you to be the boss... basically I just want to put up the money and have you run it" he spoke and my head was swimming. "So you want me to be in total control over there?" I asked and he chuckled. "No you're going to be the owner. Sell me the rest of your shares in this company and we will draw up a contract." He spoke and I was shocked. "And what about Mila? I'm supposed to just leave her here?" I asked and he shrugged. "Personal decisions are up to you and the people in your life. I'm here to make money. This business is doing fine actually more than fine and the rest of your shares would make me enough money to open 20 businesses in California. However I think you're the best man for that job. I know you kid and I know that this was your baby but I think it's time you start fresh" he said as he stood up. "I'll let you think about this but by 9am Friday I expect an email with your answer" he said as he walked out of my door shutting it behind him. I was dumbfounded and confused. I felt like I was being kicked out of my own company and being paid to move on. He was going to essentially hand me a free business and allow me to take all of the profit. From a business standpoint I didn't understand it but even more from a personal one. Mila is his pride and joy always was a daddy's girl and now he expects me to move knowing full well that she would come with me. He didn't seem to care about that so maybe this was something he figured would happen sooner or later.
Me: Your father just confused the hell out of me... I'm coming home in about an hour. Be ready.
Mila: for what?
Me: Dinner. We need wine and somewhere that isn't home to talk this out.
Mila: this doesn't sound promising... ok
I chuckled at her response only because this had been her thing lately. Short clippy responses when I text her but as soon as I get home she's all sweet and cuddly. The girls a handful but then again... she deals with a narcissist all day.
