"Cas, you're in the clear! I told them you have a nasty stomach bug and that you couldn't make it in!" Dean yelled from the living room.

"Okay, be in there in a second! Pick out a movie!" Cas hollered back.

Cas stood in front of the microwave watching the bag inflate, listening to every little pop the kernels made as he thought about their conversation. Why did Dean care so much? What made him so special that Dean wanted to protect him? Make him happy?

"There's nothing special about me." Castiel mumbled hanging his head.

The microwave beeped and startled Cas out of his thoughts. Grabbing the bag of popcorn he realized he was still in just his towel. He walked into the living room and saw Dean perusing his shelf of movies. Deciding it would be easier to sit the popcorn down and just go change real quick, that's what he did.

He went to his bedroom and grabbed a pair of boxers, slipping them on, he was glad Dean hadn't seen his thighs. He stepped into a pair of sweat pants and threw on an old T-shirt, heading back to the living room.

"Pick a movie, yet?" Castiel spoke up, seeing Dean still looking through the movies.

"Don't be impatient." He chuckled grabbing a movie to read the back.

"I'll grab a cover while you pick something. Just have a movie ready when I get back." Cas walked to the hall closet and grabbed his green blanket.

He held the blanket in his hands for a moment remembering when his mother had gotten it for him. It wasn't his birthday or any other special occasion, she had got it for him because she knew his favorite color was green and he wanted one for watching movies or just to snuggle in while he read.

*FLASH BACK*

"Angel, are you home?" His mothers sweet voice rang through the house.

"In the kitchen mama." Castiel called out.

His mother walked into the kitchen watching him doing his chores. She just stood there in the doorway admiring her youngest son. She giggled as he bustled around the kitchen buffing the counters and making sure everything was perfectly clean.

"Sometimes I'm really glad you're a clean freak." She laughed, a huge grin planted on her face.

"Geez!" Cas gasp. "Don't sneak up on me like that!" He regained his composure.

"Sorry Angel." She walked over to the island, totting a paper shopping bag.

"What's in the bag? Did you and Tessa go shopping again?" Cas asked eyeing the plain colored bag.

"No, Tessa was busy. It was just me today." She placed the bag on the counter top and slid it towards Castiel. "Take a look inside." She smiled warmly at him.

Cas grabbed the bag and looked inside. It was just a blanket. A beautifully green, soft blanket, but just a blanket nonetheless.

"Why'd you buy another cover? Don't we have enough already?" Castiel laughed, pulling out the blanket.

"This one's yours." His mother stated, still smiling at him.

"Thank you mama." He walked around the counter and hugged her neck. "It's beautiful, and I love it."

*END FLASH BACK*

"Cas! You coming or what!?" Dean screamed from the living room.

Dean broke Cas from his memory. He felt a single tear roll down his cheek. 'God, I miss my mom.' was the last thought before he wiped his face and walked into the living room.

"Yeah, I just got us a blanket to cover up with." Cas mumbled plopping down on the couch beside Dean.

I curled up in his arms and threw the cover over us. He wrapped his arms around me and nestled my face into his chest. We spent hours watching movie after movie until we both passed out.

*The next morning*

"Cas." Dean softly shook him. "Hey man, wake up."

"Five minutes." Cas mumbled snuggling closer to Dean.

"Dude, don't do that it's too adorable." Dean wrapped an arm around Cas, propping his head up with the other.

"I'm not adorable." Cas complained lightly smacking Dean's chest.

"Come on get up. I got plans for us today." Dean moved Cas off him and stood up.

"Plans?" Cas tilted his head to the side and squinted his eyes.

"Yup. Taking you to a picnic, and that's all I'm telling you." He smiled at Cas, taking in how he looked in the morning. His messy bed head and the glow of happiness he had.

"Fine. I'll get ready." Castiel huffed pushing himself off the couch.

"That's my boy." Dean kissed his forehead before letting him walk down the hall.

Cas came back in the living room wearing a pair of jeans and an old rock shirt. He hadn't brushed his hair yet so it was still sticking up in every possible direction and Dean couldn't help but chuckle.

"What's so funny?" Cas scowled at him.

"Nothing." Dean stifled his laugh.

Cas just shook his head and walked to the kitchen. Dean followed behind him, scoping him up in his arms and spinning Cas around on circles. Cas began banging his hands on Dean's arms yelling at him.

"Put me down." He yelled while laughing.

"Not till you cheer the fuck up." Dean chuckled still spinning around the kitchen.

"Fine, fine. I'm in a better mood. Just put me down before I barf on you." Cas was getting dizzy but still laughing.

"Good." Dean stated sitting Cas on his feet. "Now, how about we head out." He turned Cas around wrapping him in a tight hug, pressing their hips together.

"Sounds good. Let me just grab a soda." Cas leaned in and pressed a kiss on the corner of Dean's lips.

"Nope, not that easy." Dean tightened his grip on Castiel. "I want a real kiss." He spoke low, his voice growing husky.

"Really? Is that what you want?" Cas teased leaning towards Dean's bright pink lips.

Dean shook his head moving closer to Cas. Castiel closed the space and meet his lips. He wrapped his arms around the taller mans neck and hummed in satisfaction. Dean grazed his tongue over Castiel's bottom lip wanting entry and Cas obliged. Their tongues fought for dominance as Dean walked them to the counter, pressing Cas against its hard surface.

He hoisted Cas on the counter top and Castiel automatically wrapped his legs around Dean's waist pulling him even closer. As things became more heated Dean pushed a hand under Cas' shirt placing it on his chest. A little voice in the back of Cas' head screamed 'STOP!' and he immediately pulled away from Dean.

"Hey, I'm sorry. Shit!" Dean backed away from Cas, leaving him seated on the counter. "That was to fast wasn't it? I'm sorry. Really I am. Just tell me if I move to fast for you." Dean began to ramble on and on about how sorry he was, but Cas just sat there in awe of him.

"Dean." Dean looked up at Cas with sadness in his eyes. In that second he decided he wasn't going to listen to that voice this time. He was going to take a risk even if it killed him. "Come here."

Dean walked over to Cas and stood between his legs once again. In one swift move Cas clutched Dean's neck and pressed a kiss to his lips. "Shut up and kiss me."
