“Concubine Yao.” She muttered darkly as a women came into view. She was being followed by a 3 other concubines.  Oh God this was so cliché.  She had no time to deal with this shit. She kept on sipping water ignoring them. Not even bothering to greet them.

“Baobao sit.”  She forced the little boy to sit near her as.

“Greetings Your Majesty.”

“Concubine Yao. Welcome have you come to join this empress in the cold palace. This empress assures you there are plenty of rooms suited for you.” She mocked.

The women gritted her teeth in anger. She knew she could not offend Yiya. Yiya was still the strongest in her position, even if beneath all of them. the emperor had made no move to have another empress despite rumors.

That didn’t mean that she would leave this women alone. No. She would make this women pay for sitting in the empress position. A sinister light entered her eyes. “Come let this  Concubine pay respect by serving her majesty tea.”

“This empress does not need tea. Tea is served to help with digestion and to reduce fat.  This empress is already thin as it is. Are you trying to kill this empress by reducing one to bones?” Said Yiya. She would not give them any face.

She knew this women was the one to poison her. No one visits her. This women wanted to check the corpse, which was why she came. Except this corpse was more alive and dead. Hmp! don’t think I’ll let you get away.
The concubine gritted her teeth and kept her fake façade. Yiya on the other hand was too lazy to bother.

“How can this lowly one do it to the mother of this nation? This lowly one just wants to drink to tea to celebrate the health of the empress.”

“Doesn’t matter. Concubine Yao can celebrate this empress health with drinking rose water.  Baobao break those roses over there and bring them here.” Yiya said changing tactics to show the slimy women what it meant to scheme against her.

Baobao obeyed her command and watched her fascinated as she viciously shredded everything, leaves included, into the pitcher. Then she poured it into cups and handed it out with such ruthlessness. Giving none of the women in the room any space to back out.

“Come. Come. Let’s drink.” She gulped her water, that had no petal in it. The women present could only grit their teeth and drink. Baobao giggled. His beauty had not changed.  Just then there was an announcement outside the palace.
