My family is Lutheran, and I know Catholic churches also do confirmation, but I don't know about other christian churches, so these vows might be the same as another church, but yea. Most of these are relatively tame, but there's one vow in particular that is questionable.

WE'RE 14 YEAR OLDS. EIGHTH GRADERS.  KIDS, VOWING THAT WE WILL DIE FOR CHRISTIANITY. NOT TO MENTION, IT'S HAS BEEN FORCED DOWN OUR THROATS SINCE BEFORE WE CAN REMEMBER, AND MY BEST FRIEND IS GETTING CONFIRMED AGAINST HIS WILL. 

ALSO, reminder that in sex ed, the pastor teaching it said that our own emotions are dangerous because they could cause us to stray from god.

Tell me, does this shit seem culty to you?

As far as the bite model goes, Lutheranism doesn't qualify as a cult, but it's certainly at least a little bit....... completely fucked.

I'm posting this not so that you'll feel bad for me, but so that you can be aware of problems with religion that are affecting who knows how many kids, as well as adults, all over the world; that it's more than just the extremism in places like Iraq.
