Mrs Christie sat at her desk in the spacious Physics classroom at Rosewood with a bunch of tired rich kids staring at her with malice in their eyes for just declaring that they had a pop quiz the following day. Despite the children of the most powerful and elite people on the planet attending this educational establishment, the students shared the same hatred for spontaneous tests as did regular teenagers in regular high schools.Aiden found himself utterly annoyed at Mrs Christie for giving them under 24 hours to revise for the exam. He hated Physics like no other subject, for him it was nothing but cruelty that this class was compulsory for all students regardless their ability, which sucked for him because he was completely useless at Physics, it was through sheer hard work and steely resolve that he was passing this class, barely, he thought to himself.
From looking at the people seated in the desks adjacent to his own, their facial expressions made it apparent to him that they also loathed Mrs Christie for dropping this bombshell on them.
To his left sat Julian Howard and he was most certainly not amused for he had extremely important events later that day leaving him with little if not no time to revise for their upcoming exam. This was because yesterday the G7 Summit was held at Camp David in Maryland and to commend the close guarded discussions ,a ball was to be held at the White House later that evening in which Julian had to attend on strict orders from his father. So in all the being paraded around by his parents, greeting other young people like him and other important figures, Julian didn't have any time to prepare for this exam. Neither did Aiden though.
As for him, he was also invited to this ball as his dad was was the Attorney General, it made sense that the president invited him. His twin siblings Reagan and Chase jumped at the chance to come however, Aiden wasn't too excited, he didn't mind going but such big social events and they were nothing out of the norm for him, neither was it for Julian either, however when he realised that he was going to fail tomorrow's pop quiz miserably, he reconsidered his willingness to go. But he had to, optics were a thing to be extremely mindful of in Washington so it wouldn't look good for him to bail on his dad, even when the press and social media took a liking to him however, not to the extent of their obsession with the presidents perfect son, little did the press know though. Besides Aiden thought, he shouldn't be complaining as his two favourite things ,food and attractive women would be heavily abundant at tonight's event.
He was sure that Alexa's mother was to be in attendance at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue tonight however that was obviously without the presence of Alexa. Her older brother was away at college and Alexa was not attending so that left Angela and maybe her husband to attend the dinner later that night. It's truly a shame, Aiden thought as her presence would make it all the worth while. For one he wouldn't have to deal with Julian and he'd actually get to spend the night with someone that he didn't dislike, something that was very uncommon in the District of Columbia.
In their parents world and apparently in theirs, it didn't matter whether you liked or disliked someone, what only held significance was how you conducted yourself and how it would look to outside observers.
To his right sat Julian's best friend and close friend of Aiden's, Nicholas. The son of the UK's wealthiest couple, Nicholas Coventry was definitely a sight to see with jaw droppingly silky raven black hair, honey brown eyes and a smile that made all girls loose composure and most often that not decency. Julian wasn't ugly by any means but, he found his way with girls by the power and influence he exerted, Nicholas however was beyond gorgeous if gorgeous knew it. Aiden knew this because Lois would never fail to comment on how she would do extremely naughty things to Nicholas if she had the chance, a comment which was often seconded by Alexa which Aiden found rather unsettling. "Had the chance" being the key word as this member of Rosewood's royalty was notorious for not associating with the female population at their school. He was the type of boy to never go for a girl that went to his school despite the quality girls that did attend Rosewood. Aiden had put it down to the sense of mystery that shrouded everything Nicholas did.
