“Where is Sakura?” Jin-Hee asked exasperated. Where on earth was her fellow otaku friend?
Jin-Hee was sitting on a big sofa, in a living room area. Jei sat opposite her, playing on her 2DS, paying no attention to the other Asians. Jin-Hee sighed and sunk into the sofa, feeling bored. She could hear her older ‘sister’ (emphasis on ‘older’) making annoyed comments while trying to make a cake. The stirring of a cake mixture began to irritate the Korean; it was becoming louder by the second. She snapped her head and started glaring at her Chinese elder.
“Stop stirring so loudly!” She whined. Chun-Yan paid no attention as she picked a sack of sugar and looked at the recipe in front of her, muttering under her breath, “No wonder why Westerners are so fat,”
The Korean girl pouted as Chun-Yan took no notice to her.
“Unnie!” she cried out, startling the Chinese girl, causing her to drop a cup of sugar.
Chun-Yan sighed, exasperated. “For the hundredth time South Korea, Japan’s gone to visit England!”
“Then why isn’t the tea colonizer answering the phone? Or Sakura?” Jin-Hee snapped back, annoyed. Chun-Yan nearly threw the ladle she was using at her.“How would I know?” Chun-Yan replied bitterly. She wasn’t too close to Sakura nowadays, and she hated how most of the younger nations left her like that certain island nation. Throughout all her years, she knew that the quote ‘History repeats itself’ was entirely correct. She wouldn’t be surprised if some young nation representive appeared and left her after 200 years. No wait, probably 30.
Jin-Hee sighed, sticking out her lower lip. She realized she made her big sister angry.
“Sowwee~” She said, popping up next to Chun-Yan. The poor Chinese girl dropped her second cup that was full of sugar.
“Aiyah!” China exclaimed, smacking Jin-Hee on the head, who winced at the smack. “Do you know how expensive this is? I need to make this for Opium’s visit!”Jin-Hee perked her ears at this. “Hey, wasn’t Sakura with the tea colonizer? You don’t need to finish the cake if Sakura hasn’t come back. Surely she would have come back by now if the meeting had finished? Since she’s not at home, England still must be occupied.”
Chun-Yan paused to take this in. It did seem logical, and this damned sugar filled pastry was too difficult…
“Xiang Gang, call Opium,” Chun-Yan ordered. She wasn’t backing down from responsibility. She wouldn’t just assume that Rose was going to delay their meeting. Jei yawned and picked up the phone lazily, dialling the number of her former colonizer.
A few seconds went by, and Jei simply said, “She’s not answering.”
Chun-Yan was surprised. Surely one of Rose’s servants would answer? “Not even a servant?”
“Nobody.” Ji-Hee plopped onto the floor, puffing up her cheeks while Chun-Yan felt even more irritated. So many things happening!“Try again,” Chun-Yan said tiredly. Jei rolled her eyes and re-dialled the number. When no activity seemed to come from the phone, Jei opened her mouth to say ‘I told you so,’ when she heard a voice from the other side.
“Aye, who is this?” Chun-Yan raised an eyebrow as Jei fumbled for words.
“Excuse me, is England there?” Jei asked, trying to keep her voice level. She wasn’t used to England’s siblings, and still remembered them, shuddering at the memories of them.
“Eh? Hong Kong?” Nessie asked, surprised.
“Yes, it’s me,” Jei stated boredly, causing Chun-Yan to tap her foot impatiently; who was waiting for Jei to get down to business. Jei sighed and continued. “Is England there? China wants to know if she’s available for the meeting, as Sakura has not come back. Is England still having Japan as company? If so, China will postpone the meeting.”
