Chapter 2

"It's too hot, why did you have to work on the weekend on the hottest day of the year" Brooklyn complains sighing and wiping beads of sweat off of her forehead. "Don't complain, you're just sitting there, I actually have to run around serving people...although hardly anyone is here" Luna says smiling and handing a customer their drink. "I'm gonna step back real quick, watch the floor" Luna says. "Ugh fiiineeee" Brooklyn groans, standing and walking to the till as the blonde walks into the back room. Brooklyn is looking through some notes when a boy comes into the café. "Hey is there anything I can do for you?" She asks the Blonde haired male. "Nah just looking, I'll let you know though" He says smirking in her direction. "Luna, you okay or are you lost in there?" Brooklyn asks "Jeez I was changing into a vest top" Luna says, walking out of the back room and tying up her hair. "Did you miss me that much?" she asks staring at her best friend. "Sure, but honestly I was just bored..." She says trailing off and staring at the door.

The blonde follows her friend's eyes to see a tall dark haired stranger brooding in the doorway staring at them. "Hey, do you know that guy? Because he seems very interested in you with the way that he's looking at you" Luna says, smirking at her best friend, as the blue/grey eyes staring at her go unnoticed. "I mean he's familiar but I don't really know him" She says, shying away from the brunette male's stare. "He is so your type, talk to him" Luna says, patting her friend on the back. "Yeah maybe, I'm gonna go sit down because someone might actually think I work here" she says laughing at her friend's expression. "I know, it would be horrific, I wouldn't be caught dead working here...oh wait" the blonde says sarcastically. The brunette rolls her eyes and sits down. The male finally makes his way over to the counter. "What can I get for you?" Luna asks, winking at her best friend.

"Two strawberry milkshakes and your friend's number" he says smirking at the blonde. "Okay, the milkshakes I can do, however you best talk to her yourself or stay single because that bitch would kill me" Luna says looking at her best friend who was back to studying for an upcoming final. "Are you always this rude?" he asks, glaring at the blonde female who refuses to be intimidated by his stare. After months of following this girl, he finally had the courage to try and obtain her number; however he was not expecting a feisty blonde female to get in the way. "I am not, however when it comes to my best friend's love life, yes, yes I am" She says smiling up at the man and moving to make the milkshakes. The brunette smirks. Turning back around, the blonde looks at the male "so what's the name?" she asks. "Huh?" he says confused. "Your name for on the cup" she giggles at him "Oh right Luke" He says. "Cool, anything else?" she asks him "No, that's me" he says, looking over to see where his brother is seated. "I'll call you when it's done" she says.

Noticing the male walk away from the desk, Brooklyn walks over to Luna. "He was here for a while, what was he saying?" Brooklyn asks trying not to sweat. "Oh don't worry, I wasn't hitting on your mans, was just talking about his order" Luna says giggling at Brooklyn's expression. "Now if you excuse me, I'm going to call him over to receive their drinks, act like you're somewhat calm" Luna says, grabbing the drinks and taking them to the register. "Luke" Luna shouts and watches as two boys come up. "U-uh, that's um three pounds" Luna says, looking directly at the blonde haired male. The male hands her the money and both teens blush as they touch hands, they pull away quickly as the two boys collect their drinks. "We have to leave, Luke" The blonde haired boy says, pulling him away from Brooklyn. "Bye" Luke says huskily, making the brunette blush and shiver underneath his gaze. "See ya~" Ryder says winking at Luna as they walk out. "D-Did that little punk ass bitch just wink at me?" Luna asks wide eyed. "Maybe he likes you?" Brooklyn asks "Maybe Mr. Try to intimidate everyone is into you?" Luna says back. "Yeah, yeah, come on your shift's over" she says and watches as Luna takes off her apron and throws it at Ramona who just walked in and is on the next shift. "Bye Ram" the two girls say at the same time while collecting their things and running out the door.
