Regan’s P.O.V

HOOOOOONK, TOOOOOT, TOOT, TOOT, HOOOOONKY, HONK, HONK!!!

I peeled my eyes open not even having time to adjust to the light. There stood my dad tooting away on his stupid trumpet. By now he’s probably woken up the neighbor hood. It was only five in the morning but dad insisted on getting on the road early. Especially because we have to stop and pick up the others.

I groaned sometimes I hate my dad, even though I know I will always love him deep inside. But sometimes that love is very very very deep inside. Right now being one of those times. Why? Why must he wake me up with his stupid trumpet? He can’t even play it right! I groaned again and rolled over.

“I’ll be down in minute Dad” I mumbled into my pillows.

“Good, because I cooked you Pancakes and Bacon... Your favorite” My Dad teased Chuckling. I shot straight up. Pancakes and Bacon cold wake me up much better than any stupid horn.

“You better be serious, or I will kill you and than I will go to jail laughing” I said seriously to my father. After a minute of a staring contest we both burst out laughing.

“On a serious note, your pancakes are getting cold” My dad called out to me as he walked down stairs. I sniffed the air and sure enough I could smell pancakes and bacon. I smiled before sprinting down stairs and eating my breakfast.

My parents finally got me into the car by bribing me. If I get into the car and go on the camping trip then they will make pancakes and bacon whenever I may request while we are camping, even if it is at midnight. And I would do anything for Bacon and Pancakes.

I whole ride to Hunter’s and Blake’s I stared out the window watching the cars, buildings, trees and people whizz past. I sighed resting my fore head on the window and waiting. I don’t know what I was waiting for, maybe for my parents to suddenly decide to not go on this camping trip? Yeah, I was probably waiting for that.

When we finally arrived I looked at house in admiration. It wasn’t too big a house and it wasn’t too small. It wasn’t too fancy nor too shabby. It was a cute house with a nice yard. Personally I thought that house was amazing, perfect even. But I wasn’t going to say it. If I said that Blake would somehow find a way of twisting the words against me. I don’t know how, but he would.

I watched and listened as the parents said their hellos and introduced Hunter and Blake to my parents. I learnt that their mum was called Sharon and their father was called Michael. When it was my turn to be introduced I was nervous and became even more nervous when Sharon went in for a hug. But none the less, I returned it. Sharon proceeded to introduce me to Hunter and Blake.

I was about to object and say we have met but Blake bet me to it.

“We know each other” he stated simply. He looked annoyed. I ignored that and proceeded to nod, to show that we had indeed met before.

“Ohh, what a great idea” I heard my dad say. Whats a great idea? I groaned. Nothing with my dad is ever a great idea. Once he had a ‘great idea’ to make our spa pool full with Jelly. Although it was fun at the time it was a mess to clean up and the spa has just never worked the same again.

“What’s a great idea?” I asked now curious.

“Us parents are going to take one car and you three can take the other” My dad said grinning ear to ear. I groaned and I knew this had to be his worst ‘great idea’ yet. But once againBblake butted in before I had the chance to say something.
