I was looking everywhere to see Cassandra but she's nowhere to be found. I then remembered where she always goes during these times.
The lockers. I was right and I was about to drew closer when the most respected person is beside her, Scheherazade Bartholome. They looked like they were close friends so instead of continuing my way towards her. I sauntered towards the school's field. I sat on the bleachers silently while thinking about why she seemed so interesting. I really like her to be my best friend but I think she already has one.
"Hey!" Someone said all of a sudden from beside me dragging me away my thoughts.
"Oh my grilled chickens!" He laughed and I threw a punch in his left shoulder but I was the one who winced in pain because of those hard muscles he has. Football players.
"Sorry for scaring you. You looked like you were drowning in your own thoughts. I decided to come sit beside you and frighten you. I definitely accomplished this mission." He laughed his head off while I made a 180-degree eye roll. Well maybe that was exaggerated but I guess it looked like that.
"Jacob Everett. Stop laughing at this very moment. Just so you know I ain't a laughingstock."
"You look and sound ridiculous just like a laughingstock would."
"Shut up." I was about to stand from the seat when he grabbed me by the wrist. Sensing a jolt of electricity from his grip. I just dismissed the thought of that.
"Let me go, you twerp."
"I won't let you go." He said earnestly.
"Whatever." I just sat again and he loosened his grip.
"D'you have plans tonight? You could join us with your brother for a movie night."
"Sorry but no. I have a pop quiz tomorrow. I must study for it."
"Math is easy."
"Easy for an arrogant person like you."
"Ouch! You're hurting my ego."
"Ego your face. Well, we can have dinner together, you know, us three. I could cook for us you know. Mom and Dad are not always around and we kinda just stick with instant goods. My brother asked me if I could cook for once in a while so I said yes."
"I surely am gonna be there. I know you are a really impressive cook."
"You're right. She has her special every Friday night and that just makes my Friday so awesome." My brother said from beside Jacob. "Jake, I know you really love to go there tonight but sorry dude you can't."
"What!? You clearly said we'll have movie night."
"Just messing with you, dude. Anyways, I came here to fetch you coach is calling us already."
"See ya later, boys. I'll be by the school garden. Let's have lunch together. Just give me a call. Toodles."
I went on my way to the school garden and sat at a bench facing a portentous white fountain shedding its wonderful clear blue waters. I closed my eyes and felt the calmness this place has given. Just what I needed everytime I stay here during my free time or during frustrating and depressing problems.
I immediately opened my eyes suddenly feeling the presence of someone who sat maybe 14 or 15 inches away from where I am sitting.
I faced the person and was surprised to see Jacob here. He must've followed me on my way here.
"Didn't your coach call all of you already?"
"Nah. He only picked some of the seniors to practice playing right now. Lucky me I'm not one of them. I'm already a professional." I snorted at what he said. He looked at me as if I did wrong. "What?"
