I fell down the floor. Not that I was expecting him to catch me. Now my butt hurts so much. It's not like someone will always catch me when I fall down especially from the floor.
"Here." He offered me his hand but I ignored him by giving him a blank face. I stood up by myself. I then wiped off invisible dirt in my jeans.
"I need to leave." I said not giving any emotion or whatsoever.
"I'm sorry. Actually, I'm here to talk to you about something. Are you free this Friday? I mean Friday night? I'm not saying it's a date maybe a friendly hangout. I needed to ask you something that Friday." He said, his tone with lots of mixed emotions.
"Wait, where are you taking me?" I deadpanned.
"Vague. It's a bookstore slash library just around the corner. I thought you'd like peace. Just use your AI Glasswatch. You'll know where it is. Meet you there at 6. Bye." He left just as I was about to say something. I shut my mouth and went back to our table.
"What was that about, sis?" I looked away and felt the need to drink tea again.
"I'll just order another green tea." I went near the counter and was greeted by a smiling girl that has the same blue eyes as mine but hers had a mix of green. Something about her made me wonder that maybe we're connected but I just didn't thought about it. I looked at her snow white hair that flow past her shoulders. They were also wavy like mine.
"Hello, I reckon you'd order. What'll it be?" She said in a British accent.
"I like your hair." She widened her smile.
"Oh, thank you. Are you from a school here? I just arrived here yesterday but I saw this cafe and I went to work here so that my parents won't send me money. I know they work hard in farms but I needed to be independent. I'll go to school tomorrow. We could talk about other things soon. Here." She handed me a small piece of paper that has her number in it and I stuffed it in my jean pocket. She cleared her throat. "I sure am talkative. By the way I'm Gertrude Beckett. What will be your order, maam?" I snorted.
"Don't call me maam. My name's Cassandra. Cassandra Frost. I want a cup of green tea, please. I'll try to check if we can hang next week. I'll give you a call. And please do call me Cassie."
"Right away. Call me Trudy." She turned her back and told the barista my order. "I'll serve it right after it's done. Nice meeting you." I smiled at her and gave her cash to pay for the tea.
"You too, Trudy." I went back to our table still not removing the smile in my face. That girl was surely something. It seems like everything about her is just optimism and happiness. I can see how genuine her smiles were.
"Hey, what's up with you? You seem happy with that cashier over there." He brought back his icy, cold tone but I wasn't intimidated by it.
"She's super nice. I bet she's like me who's a transferee." I got my phone out and put her number in my contacts.
"Let's just go after your tea." I nodded and after a couple of minutes she served my tea. I thanked her and surprisingly she sat in a vacant chair beside me.
"So who's pretty boy here?" Dhale turned to her trying to intimidate her by his cold, piercing gaze but she stared right back at him. Now they were locked in a staring contest.
"That's just Heyerdhal. A friend of mine. Dhale, Trudy. Trudy, Dhale." They both looked away and nodded. She looked at me and smiled.
"So Dhale is his nickname?" I nodded returning her smile. "Well, I won't be long here. I just wanted to know if you'd like the tea." Her alibi wasn't buying me. I feel like she just wanted to know who Dhale was. "Ta-tah. I need to go back to work. Bye and see you at school, Cassie." She stood up still smiling at me.
"Right back at ya, Trudy." I faced Dhale who was putting on a bored face. "Dhale, there's something about Trudy." He looked at me coldly.
"What do you mean something?" I ran a hand through my light yellowish brown-blonde hair.
"I mean I feel like we're connected or whatever. Maybe I'm just thinking things." He chuckled.
"Maybe you are." He then smiled. "Well, you might need to hurry. I still have some things to do. And lunch time isn't lunch time forever." I drank my tea in one gulp.
"C'mon let's go." Dhale and I stood up and I grabbed my bag. Dhale put a tip in the table and then we headed outside.
Once we pushed open the glass doors of the cafe, we were greeted by the cold breeze outside which sent shivers down my spine even if I wore this hoodie.
"Hey, Dhale. How are we gonna go back to school without wearing our uniforms?" He slapped his forehead using his palm.
"I nearly forgot. Let's just skip class." He calmly said as if it wasn't a big deal.
"Oh, nonono. I will not do that. I'm still new and I'm ditching class. There's no way I'm going to do that." He let out a hysterical laughter.
"I'm just kidding. C'mon." We went to where he parked his car and we both went inside.
He drove to their mansion and he brought me back to the guest room where I changed clothes. When he closed the door, I immediately put on my uniform along with my high heeled black leather boots. I then stuffed my clothes in my backpack.
He opened the door and he was in his uniform too. We went inside another one of his expensive looking cars. He drove towards the school and pulled up in the parking lot. I went outside not wanting to attract attention from the student body.
I hurriedly went to the lockers and got my afternoon stuff and went to English class. No one is still there. I reckon they're still having fun and hanging out with their friends in the cafeteria or school yard. I pulled out my sketchbook and started to draw. I do a little drawing on the side.
