"Surprise!" Jeno smiled at his bestfriend and fistbumped him before proceeding into going inside his house
"Why are you here? I thought the meetup with Hina is cancelled tonight? Does she know you're here? Are we meeting her somewhere?"
"Yeah. I know. And no she doesn't know I'm here. And nope, I think she's already asleep." Jeno plopped himself on the couch, "wanna order beer and chicken?"
Jaemin in shocked still, nodded and scratch his head.
Jeno proceeded in dialling the number of a fastfood chain to order
Jaemin sat beside him on the couch and sighed. It is great that he is back safe and sound but now that he's here, it feels like his chances with Hina are now back to zero.
Jaemin knew Hina preferred Jeno, why wouldn't she? He is everything he isn't.
"Have you talked to Hina?" Jeno asked which Jaemin answered by shaking his head
"You?"
"Nope."
Their order came, quicker than they expected.
As they settle in the living room, watching an anime and drinking beer, they talked about how difficult telling their feelings to Hina is.
"Why do you even like her?" Jaemin asked
"Why do you?" Jeno retorted back and both chuckled at each other.
"I'm thinking of giving up." Jaemin said
"Well you shouldn't-"
"She doesn't like me." He cutted off and drank his bottle until it was empty.
"How'd you know?" Jeno asked, opening up another 2 bottles for the both of them
"I just felt it." He shrugged, "I don't know. When you were in China having a vacation, even when I'm with her, she was texting you and when I tried to ask her for a date, she kepts rejecting me. I just-" He stopped and drank another bottle, it was painful for him to admit but even more painful for him to still hope that he has a chance.
Jeno chuckled, "if only you knew."
"Knew what?"
"The truth." Jeno drank his bottle and started watching the credits for the anime showing on the TV.

Jeno chuckled at the text he sent to his bestfriend, he waited for a reply as he was strolling down the park. He was just having a vacation since his dad has to meet some investors for their company.
