When Rachel woke up in the morning, Jared was lying next to her. She watched him and knew that she could never give up the child together. It wasn't planned but on the other side - how could you plan a child? However, she had great concerns about the Echelons. Whether she would ever be accepted, now even with the child was questionable. She was very afraid for her unborn baby.

Carefully she stood up and got a note and a pen. While Jared was still fast asleep, she wrote a goodbye note with tears in her eyes. She went into the hall, asked the doctor if she could be released and called Sam to come and pick her up. She quietly packed up her things, gave the sleeping Jared one last kiss and left the room crying.

She knew it broke her heart to leave him, but she couldn't think of herself anymore. The baby was still tiny, yet she felt like a lion mother defending her baby. At that moment it was the only way for Rachel to guarantee her baby's safety.

Sam looked at her in surprise as he found her crying in the hallway. But he knew her long enough not to ask her directly, but to take her wordlessly in his arms and bring her over the back entrance into the car. There she collapsed completely. "Where shall we go?" Sam asked. "Briefly to me, I need my camera and a few things, then please let us out of town. Can I spend some time with your parents? answered Rachel. Sam nodded and drove off. Arriving at the house they quickly collected everything important and drove straight on.

At the same time they expected Jared at the hospital and looked around in amazement for Rachel. At first he thought she was in the bathroom until he found a note next to her. Trembling, he opened it and read "Dear Jared, I know it's cowardly to run away. But I'm panic-stricken about our baby. If you know that not only I have to face the Echelons, but an innocent child could also be hurt, I can no longer stay by your side. It tears me apart, you are the love of my life and I cannot imagine a life without you, but there is no other way. I will keep our child and tell him about you at every opportunity. He'll grow up with your music and one day we'll all see each other again as soon as he's calmer or big enough. Please don't look for me, it hurts enough already. I will be fine. In eternal love, Rachel."

In panic and grief Jared just started to take apart the furniture in the room when Emma and Shannon came in to find out why Rachel had already been released. When they saw Jared like that, it ripped their hearts apart. They tried to calm him down, but he now gave them the letter and kept hitting a pillow.

Shannon stopped while reading and looked at Jared with big eyes. "When were you going to tell us she was pregnant? Had we known we would have tried to talk to her," Shannon said. Emma's eyes widened when she heard this and she could understand Rachel for a moment. After this attack she probably would have thought about fleeing.

She grabbed her cell phone and dialed Rachel's number. Since she didn't answer, she located the cell phone, a function she had installed in all cell phones for emergencies. "Jared, she's at your house, pull yourself together, we're all going right now," she shouted and both grabbed Jay and ran to the car.

Arriving at the house, they searched every room until they found the cell phone on Rachel's bed. It was still on, but there was no trace of Rachel. Only now did Jay notice that some clothes and the camera were missing. She had really left him. All he had left was a picture of them both on the cell phone. He didn't know if he could ever cope with that.

Crying, he collapsed. The others didn't know exactly what to do. Emma noticed that Sam was missing and called him several times, but he didn't answer, worse still, she was pushed away several times. She spoke to him desperately to voicemail and asked for retreat and info on where Rachel was.

Rachel saw all the calls on Sam's cell phone, but she had forbidden him to talk to Emma or the rest. She noticed him taking the whole thing and when they made a stopover in a motel, she sat next to him and explained the situation to him. That she was pregnant, that she had left Jared and that she could never go back. Sam promised to support her in everything, to break off contact with the others, then he took her in his arms and tried to comfort her. So they fell asleep at some point.
