I tapped my claws on the table. Zarkon was planning another Attack on Altea, or Eden as it's more commonly known. It's been a few thousand years since he assumed command, and he was a good Emperor, so I didn't argue, nor did the other warlords that sat on the table. The table was square, with an obvious head of the table where Zarkon and his most trusted sat. Most of the command sat opposite someone that had an opposing opinion, which is why one side, the side opposite Zarkon, was always empty. It was a way to resemble how no one who has turned against him has lived to tell the tale.
I was sat by his right side, Lotor throwing me dirty looks as I was sitting there. He had always had a grudge against me since I took his place as Zarkon's most trusted. Thanks to that, he was kicked off of these seats entirely, now he was just leaning against a wall, probably thinking about how he was going to kill me.
I checked my data base, seeing if I had any new information. A small ache in my neck told me all I needed to know. Vanishing into a cloud of smoke, i pictured where I wanted to go. I wanted to go home.
-Keith's Perspective-
It felt wrong to be here, like someone was watching me, but like usual, my curiosity got the better of me as I placed my hand on the pedestal. It had an intriguing design carved into it. A shadowy mist twirled out and formed a human-like figure. "Sup kid." It spoke. I jumped back and squealed in shock. "C'mon, you are the first person to find me in thousand of years, you have to be useful in some way."
"My mother leads a group of people that are quite feared in my area?" I squeaked, my words forming into more of a question than an answer.
"Right? So you are heir to something pretty big then, eh? You could be of some use to me." He smirked, hopping off of the Pedestal. "What's your name, kiddo? I need to know for... personal reasons."
"I-I'm Keith, Keith Kogane." I stuttered. Fear had taken over me by that point, as I was frozen to the spot.
"Keith... I could work with that... I'm Yurak, demon of the high council. And you, Keith Kogane, are my new Vessel." He announced, coming closer to me and placing his hands on my shoulders.
"Why? I'm a loser and no one likes me. There is no way you would find pleasure in being me. Why not choose James? He is strong, good-looking and popular. Why me?" I sighed.
"Because, Keith Kogane, you are perfect for what I'm planning." He grinned, a plot hatching in his mind. Whatever he was planning, I wasn't ready to know, but if he could help me out, I wasn't going to pass this opportunity down.An electric pang on my wrist woke me up. 'Wake up sleepy head' his voice echoed in my head. "Rude," I muttered back.
I got dressed in my usual clothes before Yurak commented on my outfit choice. 'No, kid, I'm not wearing that, id rather die.' I huffed in defeat and let him choose an outfit. I looked okay in these clothes actually.
Thankfully, Yurak didn't make a comment on my choice of cereal. "Keith, sweety, I'm going to be home late, are you okay on your own?" My mother asked, pulling on her fingerless leather gloves. I nodded a reply. She smiled and gave me a kiss on the forehead, running out of the door to get into her car and drive away.
I walked to school, not having any other way to get there other than bus, but that was always so crammed. 'C'mon bud, let's do something less time-wasting' soon, a black mist enveloped me, and when it has finally dispersed, I was at school, somewhere hidden so no one knew I had went to school the way I did. "Cool..."
Classes went well, Yurak told me all the answers to my test. I was able to finish within minutes and was given an A, so id say that was a win. A couple of girls came over and complimented my outfit, to which Yurak would say something along the lines of: 'Told you, Keith. I was a real Lady-Killer back home.'
When Yurak was quiet —Which was very rarely— it gave me time to think about the situation. He was alone, he sounded it, like me. If I kept him with me, I could succeed in life, become rich and finally pay off all the debt my mother owed. I could hire people to go against the government so that my mother didn't have to. There was so much I could do for my mother that I needed to do, so o made a deal. Once I was alone in a bathroom cubicle, I offered it. "How about you can stay forever. You can choose everything for me, but I need you. Help me on my tests, fight for me, get me places. I need you, Yurak, You can do everything I can't." His laughter echoed through the bone of my skull.
'No, you can do everything even I can't, that's why I need you Kid.'
A smirk played on my lips. This was going to be fun.
