chapter 1 // the planet of apidia

I look over the balcony at the planet closest to us and the stars above. It makes me miss home. My mother, my friends but most importantly my home planet. Earth. Earth is where I belong. Earth is my home. But I can't go back there. Or maybe I can.
"Princess?" I hear a familiar voice from behind me and I turn around to see Luca behind me. Her purple skin is always something I could never get used to. She smiles and places a dress down on my bed.
"What are u doing out there?" She says and walks over to me.
"Just thinking." I say and make my way into the bedroom closing the doors for the balcony.
"About what?" She asks, I love Luca a lot and she always cares about me but she is always so curious about everything and anything about me. I can tell she knew me from the start. I look up at her before sitting down on the bed.
"Earth. I want to know what's on there. I want to know the mysteries of this planet with the most intelligent life form in existence" I snap. I don't mean to but I need a lie. Everyone here thinks I'm an alien and I have to act like it. Apidia life form is always so curious and needs to make sure everything is perfect but they trusted me in the end. She sits next to me and gives me a reassuring smile.

"I overheard the armies talking about moving over to the Milky Way and finding out what is up. I heard there are no life forms on any of the other planets either. Except Jupiter." She explains. Flashbacks come into my mind about me in school learning about all the planets. Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. Of course, they didn't classify Pluto as a planet anymore but I still remember it. I excuse myself from the room and make my way down the main corridor to the control room. Purple coloured aliens surround the place. Their frog-like hands touch screens on the walls and floors. They all look and stop when they notice me in the room.
"Where's Captain Zereno? " I ask one of the closest officers. He points to a door on the other side of the room.

I will usually curtsy as I walk past some of the important officers but now I was in a hurry to find out what Caption Zereno had been planning about going back to Earth behind my back.
"Captain!" I say once I open the door and he smiles as I walk in. His room smelt of rotten fruit like the planet except worse. This perfect planet isn't always as perfect.
"Yes princess." He asks, he quickly hides one of his tabs from one of the screens.
"I overheard someone talking about a mission to the Milky Way." I ask, almost casually. He flinchs from my words and laughs awkwardly.
"We were going to discuss this with you later, princess. We have planned a mission to the Milky Way to check out Earth. We've communicated with other planets in our galaxy because we need all the help we can get. We are having a gathering tomorrow and we will discuss everything very soon." I felt like screaming because my own kingdom was hiding things from me about me. If they all trust me completely then they would know that I was a human and they would know that I need to go back to my home planet.

He discusses some other stuff with me about forming squads with other planets and I zone out. I miss my mother. She's in another planet dying or possibly dead. The thought stabs me in the heart and I can hear a loud buzzing noise in my ears. I notice red lights and the panicking squeals of the Apidians in the attack room. "INTRUDER, INTRUDER, INTRUDER!" Blasted through the area as well as loud sirens and screams. I walk out the control room and down the corridor to the main room where my throne is.

Troops head down corridors as well. Most of them are walking in big groups around me to keep me protected. I watch as the huge gates open and the purple sky could be seen but no spaceships are seen in the sky. There are no fire or different coloured aliens in the area. It looks absolutely normal.
"PRINCESS" I hear Luca call from the doors and she runs in.
"There's nothing to be afraid of. We pulled the wrong trigger and set off the attack intruder alarms instead of the minor intruder alarms which was only supposed to notify you and the captain and I'm sorry." She blabbers on.
"Bring the intruder in." Captain Zereno orders and a group of guards walk into the door. I take my seat on the throne and watch as the group move closer and closer.

A young man is being dragged along the ground. Teeth clenched together and his arms are held around his back. His face is dirty and I couldn't help but laugh at the fact that he's a human. I step off the throne and some of the guards back away from him. I look down at him and he looks up at me. His eyes are a dreamy green and I am captivated by his stare.
"You look a bit too young to be ruling a planet, don't you think?" He says before smirking. I scoff and knelt down so my face was right in front of his.
"What brings you here, peasant?" I spat and all he did was laugh before his expression turns serious.
"Cute. I came here to find my family. I lost them when one of your stupid races decided to destroy mine. Do you have any idea where they are? Someone told me they'd be here." He snaps in anger.
"You have the wrong planet because a human life form wouldn't last a day here." Is all I say and what I have been saying for as long as I've been here.
"Who are you?"
"Harry. Harry Styles."
