Annie's POV

Chapter 16

I decided I needed sometime away from everyone because after the day in Darren's apartment the arguments only got worse and worse. Over silly things like what type of sugar we wanted or who's turn it was to wash the dishes.

I put some clothes into a bag and left the house before Megan and Molly were even awake.

Before I left for my parents house in New York I went, for the last time, to O'Malleys bar. More for sentimental value rather than anything else.

I walked in and sat at the first seat that I seen.

"What can I get you?" The bar man asks leaning his elbow on the counter.

"Just a lemonade please." He raises an eyebrow "I'm driving!" I laugh.

"Where to?" A voice, that I recognise right away, says from behind me. I turn to face Jeff.

"My parents house." I sigh "I need to get away from the girls for a while.

Jeff looks down at my bag and back to me. "Come to mine." He says

"Jeff! We haven't even spoke since the kiss, and you want me to come live with you?"

He shakes his head. "Live a little will you Annie?"

"But I hardly know you!"

He let's out a huge sigh. "See what I mean! Stop following the rules all the time!"

"But I've told my parents that I'm coming !"

"Fuck your parents."

"Excuse me!?"

"No sorry that's not what I mean. What I meant was, tell them you have other arrangements."

"We'll let me drink my lemonade and I will think about it."

I made him sit and wait until every last drop of the drink was gone before standing up and putting five dollars down on the table.

I grab Jeff's and and pull him out of the bar.

We drive to Jeff's house on the outskirts of town. He opens the door and let's us both in.

"So? Where do you want to sleep?"

I look around at the place for a moment.

"Eh your bed would be lovely." I say going slightly red in the cheeks.

"Ok fine I will sleep on the couch."

"No that's not what I meant. I meant, your bed together." The corner of Jeff's mouth twitches and turns into a grin. "Not like sex or anything though." I add quickly turning a brighter shade of red.

"Whatever you say babe"

I scrunch my nose up, "yeah, no don't call me that either!" I giggle
