It all started with a crush

Its Monday....great?!?!

( Daniel's pov)

Its Monday. CRAPITY CRAP CRAP MCCRAP. Well Mondays are always bad seeing that I have the worst schedule in the history of worst schedules. To make matters even worse I have classes with my ex. All. Day. Long.Yeaaaah (please note the sarcasm).

"DANIEL TIME FOR SCHOOL GET OUT OF BED." My mom yelled

"I'm up." I groaned

"DANIEL GET YOUR LAZY BUTT DOWN HERE"

" I AM UP. GEZZZ"

" DON'T TAKE THAT TONE WITH ME YOUNG MAN!"

"WHAT TONE? ALL I AM DOING IS RESPONDING TO YOU. MY FREAKING GOODNESS!"

Don't you just love it when parents always get on your back?

" I AM NOT IN THE MOOD FOR YOUR ATTITUDE MISTER" she yelled back.

I don't know what happened to my mom but she was has changed. Maybe it has to do with my break up or maybe that she is going through her own breakup. Whatever it is I can't be bothered about it right now

I look out the window to see Mack waiting for me. Shit, it's 8:30 already??? I rush out of my room down the stairs.

" Hey walk young man" I hear my mother yell. I chuckle to myself.

" Have a good day" she calls out.

I wave to her once I get into Mack's car.

" What took you so long??? I swear I thought I would have greys by the time you here."

" Good morning to you too Mack."

The whole car ride to school I heard about how Mack hated school and his job. I kinda zoned out until he said that he was moving

"Wait your moving?? When?? Why?? Where?? "

" Ok so you were listening"

" Dude I almost had a heart attack don't ever do that again"

" Fine, fine I won't."

" So uh what were you saying earlier?" I asked

" Oh I was just saying that you really should go ask Kelly on a date."

" Wait what???? I thought you said that she was with that other dude."

" Well it turns out I was wrong.... for once" he muttered

Hearing that made my heart sore.

'Maybe I do have a chance' I thought

"You should ask her on a date." He said snapping me out of my trance

" I can't do that. I mean I think she hates me. I wouldn't blame her if she did."

" Well give it a shot before its too late"

" Huh?? I don't understand."

" I heard that the guy she was with that day really likes her and that at any given moment he was going to ask her to be his girlfriend."

Why is everything cruel on a Monday?? I mean when something good happens to me something bad always has to counter it. This was just not fair.

"Mack what can I do to get her to go on a date with me?"I asked

"Well for starters you could stop being an ass to her and apologize to her." He said

"Great that is actually what I should do. Thanks, man."

"No problem," he said

We arrived at school. I hopped out of the car. I noticed that Mack wasn't moving.

"Dude you coming?" I asked

"Nah I'm just not feeling it today," he said

"Whatever man." I chuckled to myself.

He was an asshole. Just to leave me to fend for my own in this jungle of.....wild teenagers.

I walked into my homeroom. Worst mistake of my life. I was greeted by Sasha and her minions.

"Ohh Dani-wanyboy I miss you. Please come back to me." She batted her fake eyelashes at me and pouted her lips. I'm guessing she wanted the puppy-dog look, but she looked more like a fish. She gave me the biggest and most disturbing hugs ever.

"Sasha get off of me. It's over. Say it with me now. O-verrrrrr." Broke it down in lamest terms even. I looked at the door and everything went slow-mo. ( like in those crappy Disney movies). 'Kelly' I thought. She was so perfect. She glanced at me and my heart almost came out of my chest.

"Babe" cooed Sasha. That pulled me out of my trance. 'I need to get away from her and get to Kelly.'I thought

"Sasha please just stay away from me," I said. I broke her death grip and made a beeline for Kelly.

I made it to her desk.

"Umm, can I help you?" Asked an angelic but not pleased voice.

'Shit' I thought 'I didn't think this through. I have no idea what to say.'

"Hello??"

"Um hi," my voice cracked "uhh I umm was uhh just umm wondering if uh.."

I sounded so pathetic. I turned to leave when I heard her laugh. It was cute. It kinda sounded like twinkling chimes.

"Umm, what's so funny?" I asked in a small voice.

"You"

"Oh."

"I never thought that there would be a day I would see you like this."

I stayed quiet.

"I am assuming that you were going to ask a question? "

Right. I forgot.

"Umm Kelly I was wondering if you wanted to-"

"Please don't be cliche and ask me on a date because the answer is no." She cut me off.

My heart was shattered into a million pieces.

"Oh God please don't tell me that was what you were going to ask," she said in a panic.

I need to cover up fast.

"Nah I was going to ask if you.....wanted to be my friend... I mean if you wanted to." I stuttered.

"Stupid, " I thought. " She must think I'm crazy"

"You and I friends? What's the catch?"

"Nothing," I said

"Nothing?" She asked

"Absolutely nothing"

"Why?" she asked

"Because I want to make things right. I mean I have been a jerk to you for a really long time and it was not cool. I just want to get to know you better."

"Alright fine."

"Really?" I asked

"Yeah sure why not"

Maybe today wasn't so bad after all.
