A little blonde boy with sea green eyes walked in the living room wearing a swim suit and holding a trident.

"Mum, please let me go surfing with dad i promise not to forget my homework!" he said to his mother, Annie Cresta.

"Okay, fine. But leave the trident here, you're not taking it with you now." she replied.

"Aunt Katniss said that I must learn how to use a trident and dad said he will teach me!"

"Aunt Katniss is right, but now it's not the time, you're busy with school." Annie thought her son was born carefree like his father. He took everything from him.

"Hey, what's up? Hurry, Katniss is waiting for us at the beach!" Finnick walked in.

"Dad, mum says you won't teach me how to use a trident today!" said the little boy.

"It's okay, listen to your mum.

Today we will surf." said Finnick.

"See? Now go, Katniss is waiting for you, you will be late." Annie took the boy's trident.

"What will you do while we will be at the beach? Aren't you coming with us?" said the little boy.

"No, sorry, I have to go show Peeta the district, since he's new here."

"Have fun!" Finnick and his son walked out, and while they closed the door they saw Katniss and Johanna running.

"Heyy! Girls!" Finnick and his son ran to them.

"oh hi Finnick!" Johanna waved.

"We thought you were waiting for us at the beach" said Finnick.

"We thought the same too" Katniss laughed. "But i decided to go pick up Johanna to come with us cause she said she would stay home all day doing nothing."

"Yay, Johanna is coming with us!" the little boy hugged her.

"Katniss..? What's that on your arm?" Finnick took Katniss' arm and seemed like he stopped breathing for a second.

"What?" Katniss looked at her arm. She was wearing a small thin rope with a little knot. "Oh. I don't know, I've had it for years. I like it so I still wear it."

"You don't know where you got it from..?" Finnick looked at her. "It's..."

"Finnick. I know what it is. That's why I'm keeping it." she said.

"It brings back memories." said Finnick. It was one of the little ropes they were using some years ago, to tie knots and forget about their problems, before Snow got killed, when the hunger games still existed, at district 13. Finnick gave it to her so that they could sit and tie knots together and avoid over-thinking.

"Let's not talk about it. I just want to remember. When I'm sad, I look at it and it reminds me that things can always get worse." she whispered.

"Johanna, what are they talking about?" asked the little boy.

"Nothing, you don't need to know yet." she replied. "Let's go."

When they arrived at the beach, Finnick looked at Johanna.

"Jo.. Please. Do it for me."

"No, I'm not getting in the sea, thank you. I'll just stay here watching you guys surfing." she said.

"Is Johanna afraid of the fish?" asked Finnick's son.

Katniss laughed. "No, she's not. She's just not in the mood."

"I want her to surf with us." said the boy.

"Another time." Johanna petted his hair.

"So, ready?" Finnick walked in the sea and his son followed him.

"Katniss, aren't you coming?" he asked.

"I'll sit here with Jo." she said.

"Women..." said Finnick and they laughed.

"Why'd you stay with me out here? The weather is beautiful." said Johanna

"You're my friend Jo." she replied.

"I still like him, you know..." started Johanna.

"I know. You can't really hide it." said Katniss.

"Hm. I'm jealous of what you guys have."

"Finnick and I?" asked Katniss. "What do we have?"

"See, you are best friends and you treat each other like you're a couple, you're being funny together all the time and it's like you're perfect for each other. I try to act like you act with him, but I always end up thinking how gorgeous he is. Annie knows it but she doesn't really care." Johanna looked at her feet.

"Try, Jo, try. I've never thought of Finnick that way. He's handsome, everybody knows that. But he's my best friend. And I'm married, with two kids. We always treated each other like friends." said Katniss

"I used to hate you." said Johanna.

Katniss smiled. "I know you did, and I don't know how we ended up friends."

They laughed. "I hated you because I felt like he was gonna forget me when he met you. That's why."

"Forget you? Honestly I dont think people could forget you easily" said Katniss smiling.

The next day, Finnick and Katniss were taking their kids to school.

"Katniss your hair looks awful." said Finnick.

Katniss smiled. "Thanks Finny, I love you too."

Katniss' daughter, Prim, laughed. "What's wrong with them?" she asked her brother, Haymitch and they smiled.

"Nothing's wrong with us. Except that Katniss is ugly and it's not good for my reputation to be seen with her everyday." Finnick smiled.

"If your son becomes like you when he grows up I'll shoot myself." said Katniss and she smiled back.

"I wanna be like my daddy!" said Finnick's son.

"You think you want, but, believe me, you don't really." smiled Katniss.

Finnick poked her and she poked him back. They kept poking each other until Prim said "Mum, you start scaring me" and laughed.

That's how every day in district 4 was, with Finnick, Annie, Peeta, Katniss, Johanna and the kids. They were all enjoying their life, trying to forget the bad memories and the nightmares of the games.
