It had been about eight months since Younghyun and Jae's breakup and neither one of them had moved on. Jae often contemplated messaging Younghyun just to see how he's been doing. Younghyun constantly wanted to call Jae to hear his sweet voice once more. They were both hurting, bad, and they knew it would never end. Jae always felt like Younghyun thought he was too good for him, same for the younger.

Now, mid-November, Jae was sat at his usual seat, at his usual coffee shop, drinking his usual drink. Nothing unusual about his day.

That is, until the small bell jingled from the front of the café.

Jae's eyes were cast down at his phone as he scrolled mindlessly through Instagram. He was paying absolutely no attention to anything else until he heard a very familiar voice from not too far away. His eyes widened, his heart stopped, his ears rang. He felt like the world was suddenly spinning.

Younghyun.

After almost a whole year without hearing Younghyun's voice, it came as a huge shock to hear it again. Tears suddenly formed at his eyes, but Jae snapped back into reality once he realized he was about to cry. It was so unbelievably painful to be in the same building as someone you loved without being able to do anything.

"Younghyun, your coffee is ready!" The cashier called. He heard the boy thank the cashier once he grabbed his coffee.

Jae sincerely hoped that Younghyun wouldn't see him on his way out. No, he thought, not like this. Though it had almost been a year, he wasn't ready to face the younger. He didn't even want to see him ever again at this point. Jae knew that if he saw him again, he would never have a chance at moving on.

The older released a breath he didn't realize he was holding until just then once he was sure Younghyun wasn't going to say anything. That way, he could go back to drinking his coffee in peace.

Sike.

"Jae?" The older heard someone speak softly. His heart felt like it had stopped beating completely. He slowly raised his head and turned it in the direction the voice was coming from.

And there he was in all his glory, standing right behind him was none other than Kang Younghyun. His best friend, lover of four years, and his happiness. Once Jae looked at Younghyun's soft eyes, he knew it was over for him.

"Y-Younghyun?" Jae said back. It was so quiet that it seemed like a whisper. They locked eyes for the first time in months, sending chills through both of their bodies.

"I, uh, is that seat taken?" Younghyun asked, awkwardly motioning to the seat across from Jae. The older shook his head and played with the straw in his coffee cup. Younghyun smiled before taking a seat.

"So... how have you been?" The younger asked. There was so much tension between the two that it physically hurt both of them.

"Uh, decent I guess. How about you?"

"Same."

There was a moment of silence between the two before Younghyun spoke up again.

"Look, Jae, there's something I need to tell you." He said. He was clearly pretty nervous and Jae could tell. "I- I'm-"

"It's okay, Younghyun, you can do it." Jae said. He felt tears in his eyes once more upon remembering times when Younghyun would get upset and Jae would be there to comfort him. He missed those days more than anything and would do whatever it took to have them back.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry for everything I've ever done to you. I miss you so much, you don't have a clue how hard it's been this past year without you." He started. He weakly laughed though Jae could tell it had been hurting him. "Everything reminds me of you and I haven't been able to move on. It hurts so much not being able to hold you or talk to you or even see you. I can't believe myself for letting you go like that. I'm sorry to make things more awkward by telling you this, but I wanted to tell you at some point." He finally said.

By the time he was done talking, there were tears streaming down his cheeks and he was trying his best to stop from crying but it was no use. Jae quickly walked over to his side and wrapped his arms around the younger, hushing him and telling him it would be okay. Younghyun let his emotions he had bottled up from the past year out, not caring if anyone saw. Once he had finally calmed down, Jae pulled his chair over beside Younghyun and began to talk.

"It's okay, Younghyun. I know exactly how you feel. It hasn't been easy for me either, I can't move on. I'm sorry too, it wasn't just you at fault here. I miss you so much, it's unreal. I miss us. I miss our late night conversations, I miss waking up to you in the mornings, I miss everything." Jae said. Tears were slowly falling down his face as well without him even realizing it. He wiped his face before hugging Younghyun tighter. The younger wiped his face too before whispering in Jae's ear.

"Can we start over?" He said. Jae felt his heart shatter into a million pieces. He never thought he'd hear Younghyun say that.

"Of course." The older said. He smiled through the tears before kissing Younghyun's temple. The other smiled back and hugged Jae once more.

"I love you, Jae. I'm so sorry." He said.

"I love you too, never stopped." The older smiled, "And don't be sorry, let's leave it in the past from now on."

Everything in both of their eyes was suddenly so much brighter and livelier. All that was missing was one last question.

"Jae, is it too early to ask if you'll be mine again?" Younghyun asked. Jae smiled at the other before answering.

"Of course I will." Jae responded, smiling brighter than he had smiled in a long time. Younghyun smiled back before kissing the other.  Both boys finally felt complete again. They were back with the love of their lives, and nothing could stop them now.
