I walk through the old store, the multi-colored leaves crunching under my feet as I go. I begin my search by checking drawers, cabinets, etc. to make sure that there's nothing in here that I can use. After completely checking the room, I walk over and push open another door to a different room so I can check it for supplies. This one is noticeably much bigger and seems to be fairly empty with not much of anything outside of leaves, part of the wall on the far side is missing and shows a fence outside.
That's when I hear it too late, the sound of something very heavy hitting the ground as I yelp in surprise when a rope tightens around my ankle and yanks me into the air, dangling me from a few feet from the ground. My machete falls from it's sheath on my backpack and down to the ground below me, out of my reach. My pistols are about to fall as well, but I manage to catch one of them mid-air before it hits the ground. "Fan-freaking-tastic." I comment sarcastically. How am I supposed to get out of this thing? My machete is on the floor out of my reach and I don't want to waste a bullet on shooting the rope down.
Zoey and Tristen will realize I'm missing eventually and come looking, for now, I just have to hang tight. I take a closer look at my surroundings and realize that the rope had been connected to a stove that must have fallen from the large shelf next to it. It was clearly a trap meant for a Corrupted that I just happened to fall into.

But that's when I hear it.
The loud screeches and groans of Corrupted as they climb over the fence outside, itching to dig their blade-like nails into my skin and see my blood spattered and stained on the floor as my eyes go lifeless.
I'm hanging upside down with only 1 pistol, and I'm alone with God knows how many Corrupted just waiting to tear me to pieces. I don't have an unlimited supply of bullets, I'll run out eventually, my only real hope is that Zoey and Tristen will come and help me soon. "Oh shit." I exclaim, not wasting any time in grabbing the magazine out of my back pocket and sliding it into the gun, now aiming it at the variety of Corrupted that is now only 10 feet away from me.
Everything else just seems to fade away, the only things I can focus on now, are the multiple Corrupted of all kinds running towards me. The loud bang of the 45 ringing in my ears as the bullet flies into the head of someone who was once human. The loud bang goes off..
Again.
And again.
And again.
It never stops, because the Corrupted never stop. They'll never stop. Not until I'm dead and my body lies in a pool of it's own blood with animal like scratches painted all over it like a brush and it's canvas.
But I refuse to give myself up to these monsters, I did not come all this way just to die now. What would be the point of all of this if I did? The only true failure is submission. These inhumane monsters don't deserve submission. They don't deserve the satisfaction of knowing they won. So I won't let them. I won't let them win, because I'm fighting for something bigger than that. This mission is far from just me, or Zoey, or Tristen. It's about freeing the innocent souls that have been caged and hidden. The souls that have been possessed by the demon that is known as the virus. All of the children that have lost their parents and have grown up orphans because of this parasite that has delved our world into chaos and misery. I'm fighting for them. If I give up, I will be giving up on them.
A Corrupted manages to get close enough to me that he clasps my shoulder with an iron grip, trying to bite me. But I wiggle and fight with all my strength, I won't let these things get the better of me. I won't.
I put the gun under it's chin and pull the trigger. Click. I'm out of bullets, and I don't have any other weapon on me. They're all on the ground. But I don't stop struggling to get out of this monster's grip. It would be disrespectful to myself.
All of the sudden, I hear a slice, and the head of the Corrupted falls to the ground beside it's body in a pool of blood. I look in front of me and see a man with brown hair that looks like has grown out from a buzzcut throw a grenade at the wave of Corrupted heading towards us, then use his machete to cut the rope that was holding me above the ground.
I quickly grab my machete and put it up to his neck, but he doesn't seem to be affected by it. "You wanna stay here or follow me somewhere safe? There'll be more coming." he says, not really expecting an answer before I lower my machete, pick up my other 45, and shoot a Corrupted I saw climbing the fence without even sparing a glance.
Taking the hint, he leads me to a bunch of crates stacked on top of each other like stairs that leads up to an open window with a small balcony that has another building next to it. Not wasting any time, we hurriedly climb the crates, duck through the window, and close it behind us. There's a plank that leads across the balcony over to the other building, it's fairly slim but I don't have time to worry about that right now.
He crosses he plank first as I shoot Corrupted that are climbing the crates with my 45's, which have been reloaded now that I can access my bullets. "Hurry up kid!" the man yells from the other side.
I grab a grenade out of one of the pockets of my black cargo pants, "Chew on this!" I exclaim, releasing the pin and tossing it into the room. Effectively buying me enough time to walk across the plank and to the other side.
Wentworth Miller as the yet to be named man (I have a name for him, you guys just don't know what it is yet)
