Bella had her tiny cactus plant in her hands, already dreading the decision to move in with her dad. Renée had grabbed her cheeks and kissed both of them, then turned around to do the same to Dani's, Bella's twin sister.
"Come on, ladies! I love the three of you very much, but we have a plane to catch," Renée's boyfriend, Phil, called out, shutting the trunk of the car after putting Bella's and Dani's suitcases in the trunk.
The four piled into the minivan and drove to the airport, away from the sunny Phoenix home. Bella and Dani were moving to Forks, Washington so their mom can travel with Phil. Bella was dreading it. Dani, however, was looking forward to leaving the 90°+ weather of Arizona.
Arriving at the airport, Renée was having a very difficult time saying good bye to the twins. She was currently hugging Bella very tightly. Dani stifled a laugh at the look on Bella's face.
"If at anytime you need to come home, I'll come straight back, okay?" Renée looked at them.
"Mom, we'll be okay," Dani gave her a reassuring smile, knowing very well that it wouldn't lessen her worry.
"Bella," Renée looked at said girl, asking for confirmation from her.
"Like Dani said, we'll be okay," Bella nodded in agreement.
The woman then sighed and turned to trap Dani in a bear hug. She patted her mom on the back as she pulled away.
"You two take care of each other," She looked between the two, before kissing their cheeks one last time.
"Mom, we have to board now," Dani looked at her, nodding her head toward the loading terminal.
"Right, right," Renée wiped away the tears falling from her face. "Call me when you land."
Bella and Dani responded with an okay and then boarded the plane. After the three hour flight, they landed in Forks. The girls soon got off the plane and met up with their dad, Charlie, at baggage claim. He was the chief of police. They walked to the parking lot, eventually finding his police cruiser.
"What's wrong with the truck?" Dani raised an eyebrow at him.
"Nothing," He shrugged. "It was faster in the cruiser."
Dani gave a nod, putting her and Bella's bags in the trunk. She then grabbed Bella's arm as she went to go sit in the backseat.
