Peter sighed as he stared at his ever-growing list of 'Things I can do that are spidery'. No one knows about the last two, and he was hoping to keep it that way. Who knows what the Avengers would think if they realised he could one-hit KO them?

It was December 14th, and it was freezing cold. Peter was swinging around on patrol, munching his churro as he looked for the next crime scene.

"Hey Karen, you found anything yet?" He spluttered, nearly choking on the sugary snack.

"No Peter," she replied instantly, "it seems as though you have stopped all current crimes in this area."

Peter smiled at this. Crime rates had dropped ever since he became Spiderman, and he couldn't be happier. Peter then let out a massive yawn, almost smacking into a building.

"Peter, I advise that you take a break on a roof before heading out to the next area." Karen stated.

"Okay Karen!" Peter exclaimed, still high on the adrenaline in his sleepy state.

Finding the top of a building, he lay down, simply taking in the sights of the city. He rested for a couple minutes, enjoying the peacefulness while it lasted.

"There appears to be a robbery 3 blocks away. I advise that you go there immediately."

Peter nodded his head. However, as soon as he stood up, a bout of dizziness hit him.

"Woah..." he muttered, stumbling around, trying to find something to steady himself with.

"Peter, it appears your heart rate is dropping drastically. Your body heat is reaching unsafe levels. Shall I contact Mr. Stark?"

"Karen, 'm fine, no need ... call ... mis'r Star' ..." he waved her off.

"Contacting Mr. Stark."

This was the last thing Peter heard before he collapsed and the world turned dark.

Tony was was having a bad day.

Dum-E set fire to his latest clean energy project, and he forgot to save the blueprints, so he had to start from scratch.

One of his interns flooded the 15th floor, meaning he had to make repairs.

Pepper was at a business meeting in England, so he couldn't contact her.

And lastly, he had run out of coffee.

His day couldn't possibly get any worse, he thought. Tony's head was in his hands as he contemplated his day. It shot up, though, when his phone started to ring.

Call from: Underoos

Answer            Decline

Tony quickly clicked answer, only to have the metallic voice of Karen fill his ears.

"Mr. Stark, it appears that Peter is in danger. His heart rate has dropped drastically, his body heat has reached an unsafe level and he has just collapsed." Relayed Karen.

"Alright, I'll be there 10 minutes tops. Where is he?"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tony found him and almost fainted himself. Peter was unconscious, his body a sickly pale colour and his lips turning blue. Tony wasted no time in picking him up and shooting towards the tower, praying that Bruce was in the med bay.
When he finally arrived, he nearly tripped with how fast he was running. His kid needed help and To- wait a minute, his kid? No, his mentee.
"Bruce!" He yelled, bursting through the doors.
Bruce quickly looked up, only to have his mind clouded with worried thoughts at the state he was in. He rushed to get Peter on a stretcher, before disappearing behind steel doors, leaving an anxious Tony in his wake.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

It had been 3 hours, and Tony hadn't moved a muscle. How could he? Peter was in critical condition, and it could be his fault for not getting there in time. Before he could be pulled into an endless spiral of blame, Bruce's head poked out from behind the steel door.

"Tony?" He asked tentatively. "Umm, there's something you should know about Peter's current condition."

"What is it? Is he okay? Will he be okay? He's not dead, is he? It would be my fault if he is. I'll have to live with the guilt of his death and scars of where May descended her anger."

"Tony, calm down," said Bruce, "he's not dead and he will be fine."

Tony breathes out a sigh of relief.
"Thank god, when will he be out?"

"That's the thing," Bruce replied. "When he was bitten by the Oscorp spider, it seems he inherited more traits than just webs and sticking to things."

Tony held his breath and nodded, signalling him to continue.

"Peter appears to be in hibernation."

Tony's eyes grew wide, a look of shock resting on his face as he registered this new information.

"Can we wake him up?"

Bruce gave a hesitant nod and said, "Well, yes, but suddenly waking him up could send him into shock. The only other method will take a few days."

Tony frantically replied, "Yes. Do whatever it takes."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The process consisted of slowly warming up the medical bay, to trick Peter's body into believing that it was summer. Today, it was going to be around 30'C, and Tony was freaking out.
"Why the fuck hasn't he woken up yet?!??!"
"Calm down, okay?" Pepper said with a calm tone. "Peter's strong. He will wake up soon."
Tony grabbed his hair and spat out, "But it's been a whole month! Surely he should be awake now if he was still alive!"
Tears clouded his vision. How could he live with himself, if Peter dies because he wasn't fast enough? He would have to live with this guilt forever, feel May's resentment towards him, he would-
"TONY!"
Bruce's shout pulled him out of those thoughts. He burst through the lab doors.
"Peter is finally waking up," Bruce panted, attempting to catch his breath.
That was all it took for Tony to book it to the medical room, to see a bewildered and confuddled Peter registering his surroundings.
Without saying a word, Tony wrapped him up in a tight hug. Confused, Peter slowly returned it.
"Don't worry kid," Tony whispered softly, "this is definitely a hug."
