Before you go any further, No, this book is not about how I am an angel or a demon (not that I even believe those exist). This isn't another one of those cliché stories about how I got amnesia, or about how my life became a fairy-tale in a mere few weeks because some new guy walked into my life. Nor is it about how I secretly love my best friend or how I fell in love with some cool kid that's way out of my league. I didn't sleep with some band member either so if that's what you're looking for, you've come to the wrong place.
This is however, if you're still willing to read my story, the tale of how I realized that I could read people's minds.
No, before you ask, I'm not some sparkly vampire nor am I some inhuman robot. I am simply just a curious boy that understood early on that I could tune in to others thoughts, invading everyone's personal privacy.
Oh, before I forget, there's one important reason I'm telling you all of this. I used to think of this power, I guess you could call it, a curse. The only things I used to be able to pick up were simple things like 'I hope I don't fail my test' or 'holy shit, Mary looks hot in those shorts' but then one day a honey haired boy walked into my life and I could feel death radiating from every single thought that passed through his brain.
'Tonight,' he thought, 'tonight I'm finally going to end my life.'
And that's when I realized, this power is a gift and that I had to put it to use and save the small hazel eyed boy. So if you're still curious, still wondering how I manged to save a life -and maybe fall a little in love along the way, go ahead and read on. Enter my world and see that no matter what, there's always someone to help.

24 hours prior.
I shuffled to my locker as the sound of the bell bounced across the cold green metal, signaling the end of the day.
Winter break, finally. Winter wasn't my favorite season, but I got a break from school and that was the only thing I was concerned for. Normally, it would be like the arctic circle here, but mother nature couldn't seem to make up her mind as of yet, temperatures still surpassing 70° on some days.
I hopped in my car, rolling down the window, as this was one of the days where the sweltering sun made an appearance in the once dank December sky. I began strumming my fingers to the beat of Cool Kids, thinking about any possible plans I could conjure up throughout the week. As I came to a halt at the red light, my mother called me, telling me to pick up our take out she called for minutes ago. I killed the engine, walking up the pathway to the chinese restaurant.
Making a U-turn out the parking lot, I smoothly eased onto the road, thoughts wandering once again. I was silently hoping and praying my mother will uphold her end of the bargain this time around so I could do something (not so) productive with myself. The five days we had off prior to thanksgiving were unfortunately spent with my sickeningly sweet grandmother and my annoyingly affectionate younger cousins. My mother bribed me, informing me that if I participated on the trip, then winter break was mine to do whatever I pleased. Quite frankly, I pictured myself in the house, probably eating through 20 boxes of mozzarella sticks along the way. I wasn't the partying type anymore.
Too caught up in my own affairs, I narrowly avoided a fender bender with another jackass who wasn't paying attention to the road, either.
"Watch where you're going, you ignorant twat!" The woman (not surprisingly) shrieked out her window.
"Such foul language coming from such beautiful lips." Here I was, absentmindedly flirting in the middle of a not-so-busy intersection with some stranger.
"Listen here, fuck face." She started, making sure to put extra emphasis on the swear word. "You may be hot, but I hope you don't think that I'm going to magically forget about you almost ramming that tacky ass car into my property."
"That wasn't only my fault, was it, babe?"
A sigh escaped her lips, simultaneously paired with an eye roll. "Just pay attention to the road next time."
"I wasn't the only one being distracted, sweetcheeks. I could come over there and see what's got your mind occupied, if you'd like."
"I'd rather you stay in your car, thank you." Her mouth said, a red tint pooling under the cheeks of her brown skin.
"Maybe you could do a little more than see what's got my mind occupied."
"I know you don't really think that, but if that's what you want." Smirking, I pulled my head back in my car, watching her speed off, but not without throwing a suggestive finger at me.
As I turned down our street, I ran into more commotion. This time it wasn't a cute girl who doesn't like to watch the road; I instead was met with electric blue letters of a moving truck that read Moore & Co.
Ugh.
New neighbors means new people and new people means new minds to feel out, something I'll never become accustomed to. Before I can make a u-turn for the second time this day, my mother spots me.
"Lucas! Come meet the new neighbors!" She aggressively exclaimed.
Shit.

helllloooooooo! I know this is short but if things go planned then the length will gradually increase. I thought it was weird that I read boyxboy but I don't write it???? I'm not sure how people are going to react to this but let's hope that if gets more attention than my het fic lol.
I would like to thank SS_Larry98 for creating this amazing idea and allowing me to use it! Everything in bold italics in the beginning was written by her! Thank you, darling, you're amazing ❤️❤️❤️.
