Emma’s P.O.V.

I was dreading coming today. It was all staring to become real. I have been joking all year with Journea and my boyfriend about today. Passing all the freshmen, juniors, sophomores, and other seniors, I had yet to find Matthew. I told Journea I was going to look for him at our usual spot. She nodded and she went to find her boyfriend Riley. Riley's not the greatest guy, but I like him because he makes Journea happy. He's nice to her, makes her laugh, takes care of her, buys her things, the whole nine yards. I remember how happy she was the day she told me they were dating. It's like it was yesterday

Flash Back

Narrator P.O.V

Journea: Emma! Oh my God! Guess what?!

Emma: What?!

Journea: Riley and I are dating now!!

Emma's P.O.V

I didn't know what to say. Of course I was happy for her, but Riley and I weren't exactly on like terms. I had dated his brother James in the past and it didn't end well. He cheated on me, and after I dumped him, I kind of snuck into his house, and sabotaged his room. Or at the time, what I thought was his room. It turned out to be Riley's room and he said he would talk his mom out of the lawsuit if I could hook him up with Journea. It really did work out because they both have been crushing on each other since 8th grade; but both have been too shy to admit it to the other.

End of Flash Back

Journea's P.O.V.

It upset me to see Emma sad that she wouldn’t be able to see Matthew anymore. I never approved of Matthew because I'd heard stories about all of his past relationships. Other girls he dated he ended up cheating on them. I know he seemed all nice around Emma but when he isn’t, with her, he is the rudest, conceited, selfish, and annoying person you could ever meet. I've wanted them to break up cause for what seems like forever because I didn't want her to get hurt like that. She knew they had to break up sooner or later.

To my surprise it was sooner. No, sooner was an understatement. It was more like immediately. Emma came running down the halls, nearly tackled me, and pulled me all the way into the bathroom. Now, let's face it. I saw this coming; but regardless I knew it wouldn't be good. The second we got in, she looked at the other students in there; I guess her expression was either sassy or derogatory because the other 4 girls in the bathroom ran out like there was a fire behind them.

{Everyone knew any spot the seniors claimed was their territory. You weren't even allowed to walk on the same side of the hall as a senior. If there were seniors on both sides, you stopped and waited. If you were late, so be it. Unless a senior was friends with you, you couldn't talk, associate, wave, nod at, or have anything to do with a senior unless you were another senior, or a specific junior. Grades weren't really allowed to mix at school.  Most freshmen kept to themselves, and stayed usually with the sophomores when associating with someone out of their grade level.

Even juniors were too high on the status bar to associate with freshmen. Most juniors were good enough to pass as seniors, although the actual seniors could tell the difference. Sophomores, kept their place, without needing to be told, and if you crossed a senior and weren't one; unless you were a cool junior, you got stepped on. Figuratively speaking of course. When I say stepped on I mean you were embarrassed. When a senior comes, the others automatically leave. It was like a student law}.

Once they left the bathroom Emma fell to the floor and busted out crying.

Emma's P.O.V.

As I walked to the benches under the stairs, I felt my stomach start to twist. I felt bad about what I knew what I had to do even before I was going to do it. When I turned the corner I saw something I's never forget. I fell on my knees, the tears falling from my eyes. I was silent, but watchful. Matthew was sitting at the top of the bleachers making out with a girl who was sitting on his lap. From behind, she he looked like a Barbie doll. Thanks to the jungle gyms I used to climb as a kid, I could climb quickly and quietly. I snuck around the back of the bleachers and grabbed the first bar.

When I reached the top, I stepped over the bar, walked around Matthew and behind the girl. I grabbed her hair and yanked. I didn't care if her hair or her whole head came off. I was filled with anger. She fell backwards down a step of bleachers and got up like she was perfectly fine. (Which I have to admit I was a little disappointed about). "What the hell is your problem?" She glared at me. I took a quick glance at her face. I'd know that face anywhere. That was Lauryn Allen, THE most popular girl in school.
