3rd POV memory.

Percy waited for his mom to pick him up from his first day of kindergarten. He sighed when the principal came up to him, walking with his mom. Percy scowled to himself, smiling when they caught sight of him.

"I hope he does not cause any more trouble for you. I'm sorry that he did that." Sally said apologetically, sending Percy a disappointed look, which Percy frowned to.

"What did you do?" Leo asked. I shrugged.

"Like I remember. I was in kindergarten." I said, looking at my mom, who was remembering what happened, based on the way she was staring at nothing.

"He better not, a child his age shouldn't be doing what he was." The principal frowned, sending Percy a glare, which he gladly returned.

"That sounds bad." Frank said, looking at me. I frowned at the screen like thing, I remember this now.

"Percy, come on. I think we need to have a talk." Sally frowned, grabbing Percy's hand and dragging him away, repeatedly apologizing to the principal.

"What is there to talk about?" Percy asked grumpily, pulling his hand away from Sally's.

"I don't know who taught you to fight, but you better not raise your fist ever again unless it's for self defence." Sally growled at Percy, who didn't seem to back down.

"I'm sorry that you haven't done any good parenting in my 5 years of living." He retorted.

"That was a bit to far Percy, way to far." Jason said disappointedly.

"Don't you think I know that? I said I have a lot of regrets, this was one of them. My mom and I are fine now, have been since I was 11." I said, glaring at Jason.

"I'm sorry I don't have a good son to raise!" Sally retorted, but her features softened immediately. "Percy, I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said that." She said sadly.

"Yeah, you shouldn't have." Percy said. They were now in the car, and Percy was seated in the back, so he cried silently. He had tried to have a better relationship with his mom, but she is so distant, still heartbroken from when Poseidon left.

"I also have a lot of regrets, saying that was one of them." My mom said, tears coming from her eyes. I smiled at her.

"It's the past. Besides, after you found out about the- yeah, you know, things got better for us." I smiled, stopping when I was about to say something.

"About what?" Annabeth asked me, looking at me curiously, but definitely still pissed off.

"A very bad time of my life. It only lasted a year and a half, and when my mom found out, she made me stop. We have been close since. It will show, I promise you that." I said darkly.

"Well now we gotta wait, why not just tell us now? We will find out one way or another." Annabeth insisted.

"I don't like talking about it. Let's just say that it was something that earned me more money than my mom got doing two jobs." I said sadly. My mom looked at me sadly, and she was crying hysterically.

"I'm so sorry." She cried, leaning into my shoulder and hugged me.

They walked into the apartment quietly, not talking, Gabe was watching the news, sipping some alcoholic he got his hands onto. Sally didn't stay long, she was out of the apartment right after she got there, which made Percy scared, his mom would be there for a while.
