Lizzie didn't know where she was going, couldn't see through the mix of her tears and the snow that was falling. She just needed to be out, somewhere that she could breathe. Her lawyer never called so she should've known it was bad, but this was something she'd never imagined would happen, at least not this soon.

She'd found herself at one of the parks near their house, Lily loved the park more than anything and it was always a good place for Lizzie to clear her head. But nothing was clearing and she just cried harder, wrapping her arms around herself, shivering as the wind blew the snow around.

"Lizzie, come on. It's freezing." Scarlett's voice sounded muffled as Lizzie kept looking straight ahead, lost in her own world, "Baby, what's wrong?"

Lizzie bit down on her quivering lip as mor tears fell and she shook her head, she couldn't say it, couldn't make it real.

"Babe, just talk to me." Scarlett pleaded as she grabbed her wife's hand.

"They let him out."

Anger boiled in Scarlett, "They let him out of prison? Why the hell would they do that?"

"I-I don't know. Something about good behavior or some shit like that."

"Baby, it's freezing. Let's go home." Scarlett suggested, tugging Lizzie's hand, allowing the woman to follow her.

"Baby, Just breathe. I need you to breathe, ok?"

Lizzie just shook her head, tears falling again as she struggled to breathe, "I-I can't."

"I know this isn't what you wanted, but I need you to breathe for the baby, ok?"

Scarlett rested her hands on Lizzie's cold face, "It's ok, baby. I got you, ok?"
