The Beginning of the End

Part 14-A Fight is Coming

Terrell ran towards the community with the other warriors behind him when they came up to the gate shouting, "CJ, let us in."

The gate started to open allowing the warriors inside while CJ climbs down the ladder going over to Summer.

"Did you tell their leader to back off?" asked CJ.

"Yes, but he didn't like it, so now I think they wanna fight. It's not gonna be good. Go find Dean, and tell him, I'm gonna go talk with Winnie and Terrell." Summer explained heading with Terrell and Diego. Tony glanced at CJ saying, "I'll keep watch while you go find the old guy."

"Thanks." CJ said walking off when Tony secretly smiled, heading up to the tower looking over the gate.

Danny turned to Brennan as he said, "How did you get to Chicago when you lived back in St. Charles?" Brennan turned towards Danny shaking his head.

"My family was vacationing here when this all started and that's all I'm gonna say on it. Being saved by Bradley and Corina was the best thing that happened to me." Brennan replies tearing up a bit, "That is the reason I'm helping them."

"Well, sorry for your losses." Danny said. "Ayden is dead as well. Along with the rest of my family."

"I figured as much not seeing him or hearing you talk about him. It's harsh to think about the fact that 3 months ago we were normal teenagers going to school, living in a smallish town not having to deal with all of this craziness." Brennan told Danny getting up and going over to the boarded up window, peaking through the little crack in the boards.

"It's getting late, we should just stay here for the night." said Brennan as he walked off in the room to get some space from Danny.

"Winnie, the guy isn't going to take no for an answer, he said he will kill us all if we don't listen to him." Diego told Winnie as she sat up in the bed she was in.

"Don't listen to that man, he's most likely bluffing." Winnie responded just as Freya and Summer came into the room.

"This place is not safe anymore if that he comes for us all. He will destroy this place and then none of us will be left standing." said Summer.

"Unless we prepare for battle. Train all the civilians how to protect themselves if this place falls." Terrell suggested which made Winnie stand up.

"Nope, not gonna happen. There are some people who have never been outside of the walls." Winnie replies looking around the room. "They won't know what do about anything. That is why I'm going to protect them. All of them."

Terrell nodded while Diego smiled at his friend, who was trying to help everyone.

"That is what is going to get all of you killed." Summer said sternly before walking out of the penthouse.

Ella and Stella were sitting side by side waiting for Danny to get back, but when Logan walked into the room besides Danny, Ella asked, "Where is he? It's dark out and the curfew just started."

"Umm...yeah, about that...he went out of the walls, he went back to the Underground." Logan told the two girls.

"What?! And you didn't stop him?!" Both of them shouted back at Logan.

"No, sorry, he said he had to do it." Logan replied just as the door opened again with Summer coming in.

"Where's Danny?" She asked right away not seeing him.

"Logan let him go out beyond the walls without anybody else!" Stella screamed making Logan back up against the wall.

Summer put her hands to her head while she said quietly, "We are supposed to go two at a time, always...I'll go looking for him in the morning. He will be fine for one night, hopefully."
